    Good morning BA
I get to work a random 12 hour night tonight to cover for a coworker. Since we are half way through May, I thought I better get this review in...
So, I thought straw indicated the color of this pale bock. Nope. It's got "natural" strawberry flavor. Not a fan...

I'm going to find a little whiskey to get this taste out of my mouth before a nap. Cheers all!

Have a good Wednesday. I was up until 3AM playing Path of Exile, which is basically an RPG just like Diablo 3. I can see myself spending a good length of time with that one leveling up my character(s). It is free to play on Steam with additional micro-transactions for other things if you want, but not necessary. The skill tree is absolutely massive. I also got Rayman Legends off Epic yesterday and played a few worlds, outstanding stuff!

Founders Unraveled. Awesome IPA. Lasting fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light biscuit/toasted malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth/soft, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 6.6%, no lingering hop burn after the finish. Fantastic Amarillo, Azacca, Mosaic and Simcoe profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great clean wheat/oat/malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. This was definitely exceptional, loved the hop profile. Will get another 6 pack easily.

Thanks for kicking things off @lordofthewiens in the Mountain Time Zone! That is an excellent breakfast stout!

Considered going with another cuvee to mask the bad growler purchase (beer unnamed to protect the innocent), but sucking it up big boy like and finishing the remaining 20 oz off before moving to a clean second pour.

Cheers to better beers and days ahead!

Beer's working for me today. Just old school IPA. Down the hatch.

Post-lunch, on to some light administrivia, and then more paperwork, e-mail, one Zoom this pm then back with an afternoon beer. Later!

Ok, yesterday at the grocery store I decided to delve into the world of mostly macro AALs for some hopefully fun comparisons. I bought large, single cans, and since they each held around 24oz, I am not doing them all together, but rather via... something else I haven't really thought through. Mostly it's just a few side-by-sides.

So, I also gave the GF some of these blind. She shook her head, almost crying, saying, "Such large volumes of shit!"

Anyhow, first up: Miller High Life vs the king of beers, Budweiser. i recently had a six-pack of High Life where the cans were on and off refreshing and barely tolerable, sometimes from the same can. I can't recall the last time I had a Bud, I think maybe sometime last year on the golf course or from the beer guy at a game.

Anyhow, the first thing I note is that AB Inbev is giving me an extra oz of beer. Yippee! Budweiser pours clearer and lighter straw, with a more creamy head. The lacing is a bit lighter but more nicely put together, whereas the slightly darker head of the Miller leaves more chunky lacing.

Budweiser has a cleaner smell... or maybe more of a lack of smell. It does smell like... beer, but with a light sweetness and a nose that does remind me a little bit of the Japanese beers I have at teppanyaki places. Little more malt and some bitterness from High Life.

Miller is pretty smooth with a medium sweetness. Budweiser is perhaps a tad more watery but with a little more carbonation. There's a tad more sweet and bitter to the MHL, and a more crisp but bland flavor from the Bud.

This was a difficult call, although not for the reason I expected. While they didn't taste the same, there wasn't a whole lot of difference. In fact, the GF said she couldn't tell a difference and wondered for a quick second if I hadn't tricked her by giving her the same beer twice.

I thought there were small differences, with Bud being the more bland of the two. This worked for and against the Miller High Life, though. For today, in the end I ended up liking the Budweiser for its relative lack of [less-desireable] flavors.

Seeing that it's rather slow today, maybe y'all can suck it up and read the whole boring thing for a change :grinning:

    (Next round: Narragansett Lager)
