Good day BAs! Well we're starting off with foggy and warm weather for the unofficial start of summer here in sub-Arctic NW PA. The garden's in and thriving, a lot of yard work is done (More on tap for today), and the best chance of rain is Friday so I'll be watering the new grass the gas company planted at both ends of my front yard. Today's Breakfast Beer is a blast from the past (5/20/2006):

Unimpressed then and unimpressed now - drinkable at the $2.00/16 oz can price point.

Rapidly warming weather here too, maybe should have opted for a different beer than this big Chimay but that’ll do...

    Santé!

Finishing up an overnight security shift by having a brew courtesy of @jkblr , Beard Tax by Black Acre Brewing. A solid and enjoyable R.I.S.

Have a good Tuesday. I slept for 16 hours last night after gaming for 12+ hours prior to that. About to start back up again, probably Borderlands or Destiny 2. Been really loving the Action RPG/FPS games lately.

Bearded Iris DDH Ever Clever. Fantastic NEDIPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, guava, citrus peel/zest, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate wheat, white bread dough, light biscuit/toasted malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, minty, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/silky/bready malts, some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth/soft, minimal warming 8.5%, or lingering hop burn after the finish. Fantastic Simcoe, Mosaic, Motueka, Centennial profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Spot on stuff. Loved the hop profile as expected.

Followed up the earlier stout with a nice little "Italian" Pilsner collab between Ecliptic and Ruse called, creatively, Italian-style Pilsner. Pleasant enough brew, pretty nice at 5:30am.

Well looks like Unemployment finally cancelled my last claim and let me reapply for pandemic assistance. Hopefully this means I'll actually get money this time. Fingers crossed.

Founders KBS. 2018 is tasting amazing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, caramel, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of molasses, dark fruit, oak char, and smoke. Mild roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Light stickiness, chalky roast, oak tannins, and increasing dryness. Minimal warming 12.3%, zero barrel booze. Unbelievably smooth. Perfectly balanced rich malts, fruity/nutty coffee, and bourbon barrel presence/integration. I think it gets a bit better after a year. Smoother/silkier. Glad to have it year round. I have plenty to drink from many vintages.

Another cloudy, maybe rainy day in store for SWFL today...it looks like stout weather. Finishing off Sunday morning’s bottle of Westbrook’s Mexican Cake Rum Barrel Aged stout:

Still delicious - boozy rum, hot habaneros sauce, chocolate fudge and cinnamon. A little on the flat side, but I had it well sealed in the fridge the last 48 hours. Cheers and have a great Tuesday!

Post Image started acting wonky last night and isn’t posting pics for me...anybody else having issues with Post Image?

when this first started they accepted me. But then I waited 4 weeks to be told I’ve been disqualified for another 4 never saw anything when I tried again my employer hadn’t filed furlough papers and I was on his books still so I couldn’t get it so I got another job. Good luck. People I know it’s been taking 2 months stay safe.

I reached back into the box from @jkblr , and came out with a can of Teddy Bear Tears from Upland. Pretty nice brew, I coulda used a touch more chocolate flavor, and the cocoa/orange variant is intriguing, but I'm digging it.

It works just fine, I managed to edit and successfully display your picture. You were screwing up the copy and paste link.

Season 5 of BCS is over for some weeks now, what did you think of it? Some episodes were really great, others not as much. There’s going to be a sixth one, which I believe should be the last, and preferably awesome.

My bus home isn't until 8:10, so clearly time for a couple quick hits. Up now, Johnny Utah from Georgetown. Damn, this is a good beer.

Georgetown beers in Liechtenstein? Impressive distribution!
But seriously, Johnny Utah is great beer; that one sticks in my memory from 2017 (along with Bodhi), wish I could have gotten to the brewery back then...

Rince Cochon and now watching « Modern Family », mindless and funny sitcom, without the additional laughters. What I needed now.

Nice Summerish day in Chicago, first pour the last of my Bitburger Sierra Nevada collaboration Triple Hop'd Lager. The can is only 0.8 ounces smaller than a standard AmeriCAN, but seems much smaller.

Coming back with a second pour to be determined. Hope you all have more than 11.2 oz of beer today while you are celebrating Miles Davis' Birthday!!!

OK, as I noted above, I ticked a couple brews from @jkblr from a recent trade. He wanted a Ranier and an Olympia as part of his return box. OK, no probs. Except, I couldn't find a single of Oly. Bought a 12er. Drinking one now. If one is drinking some Oly at 7:30am, one should listen to some Band of Heathens while doing so:
