Been saving for a family get together. And it can’t be added to BA so it has been introduced as a forbidden beer! :sunglasses:

Yeah, I liked them up through VI or VII, but they got too pop-ish for my taste with Peter Cetera (though what an awesome bassist!) around that time frame, and when Terry was gone, well, you're assessment meets mine...

The last time they brewed this, it was phenomenal. This batch is just a tad below, but not by much.Sweet and juicy. A ot of tropical fruit flavors. Overall, this is very good.

[IMG] Poured into a 16 oz can shaped pint glass canned on 6/30/20. Pours a hazy yellow orange with a finger plus sticky white head that leaves thin streaks of lace behind. 4.5

Smell coconut, vanilla, pineapple, and apricot simple and very pleasant. 4.5

Taste follows coconut dominates and it is really bold, pineapple, vanilla, and apricot. 4.5

Mouthfeel is big, soft carbonation, not sticky or dry, and at 7% ABV it drinks bigger in flavor, but really hard to sip. 4.75

Overall if you don’t like coconut stay away, but if loving this is wrong I don’t want to be right. 4.5 Well done Kettlehead.

Got back from a grocery run. Found a few more hot sauces to try, love both of them! Went to my vape shop on the way back and got an Aegis Legend. I also forgot to get the 18650 batteries, so I went back and got 2 sets plus a wall charger. I love this mod a lot! Can go up to 200W. First time having removable batteries as well.

Ascension Fifth Stop. Awesome Hazy APA. Opaquely hazy green. Nice fluffy head retention/spotty foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toasted malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/resinous/rindy mouthfeel. Lightly increasing resin dryness; no hop astringency. Very smooth/soft, minimal warming 6% or lingering hop burn after the finish. Awesome Citra showcase. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Loved it. Ascension really has their haze game in the right ballpark.

Starting my long weekend early with a Live Oak Pilz. Its stupid hot right now in Houston, so this helps a bit.

Spinning the Sleater-Kinney album One Beat. Love this band, what got me wanting to listen to this today was seeing the Lindsay Ellis video Protest Music in the Bush Era. Of coarse this wasn't one she talked about cause she was focusing on more popular music of the time, that had political bent, but this was released after 9/11 and about that confusing and different kind of hell from that period.

Lindsay Ellis' video, long but she is always great.

I poured this one for the gf. She likes the whole coconut thing. However, it's muted and it has that signature Tree House bubblegum note. I actually like it. Who knew? All I can say is that I'm thankful the other hops took center stage. Peace...
Side note: Unsolicited, @mickyge sent me this glass. Thank you so much, sir. Much love!!!

Not what I was expecting, listed as a Strong Belgian Dark Ale. I missed "Wild" in the description on the bottle. Drinks more like vinegar than beer. Doubt I'll finish it.

I reckon that this is a pretty decent example of the style, although it's not for me personally at all, as it has that very sweet and floral flavor profile that I personally detest in Lagers.
