    Switching to something lighter.
Some lunch, then the pool. Remember when our mothers would make us wait an hour before swimming after eating? Or am I just showing my age?

No problem, and yes she is. We have been together for too long for me to just leave her on the pier...

You don’t have to be old to be senile, I had « forgotten » I purchased my new phone online during a drunken stupor; and wondered who and why someone was sending me a package from Luxembourg, where I literally have no friends to speak of...

We belonged to a pool in the 60s/70s and absolutely remember Mom admonishments to wait one hour after eating before getting in the water. Good Times!

@Justonemore91 did me a service today. He said: "Hunter, I want you to drink some beers without knowing what they are."
I haven't done a blind tasting in so long. I love this idea, because maybe it will allow me to reevaluate the whole process of tasting beers.
So, initial thoughts are NEIPA. I'm thinking it's in the 7.5% abv range, possibly higher? The mouthfeel is insane; extremely creamy. When done right, there's only one other brewery I can think of that has ever had that bubble gum yeast thing in their profile. Equilibrium. Yeah, I'm probably going to be wrong, but everyone will find out soon enough.
Side note: The gf just said: "I will eat my shoe if this isn't Equilibrium."
Either way, this is so tasty; juicy; layered; balanced; mouth-coating. Much love, brother!!!
Still drinking, but time for the reveal...
Holy freakin' shit. Blown away, advocates. The gf was better at guessing the abv range than me, but we are both mystified at the outcome. This is Other Half's version of Trillium's Fort Point Pale Ale, which clocks in at 6.6% abv. The Hunter says the following about blind beer...
    LAAAARRRRRGGE!!!

Had this one last September when it was released. Seemed to have smoothed out a touch. Really chocolatey while cold. Barrel becomes more up front once the beer warms.

I never had it when it was in bottles but I thought it was excellent. Seriously I savored every sip of that beauty. I'm glad you're enjoying it as much as I did cheers

Bitburger/Sierra Nevada Triple Hop'd Lager 5.8%. First time trying this. I like it. I might like Summerfest a little more because it's more crisp but this is good. And it's 50% off.

Blind tasting #2. I see what you did right here, @Justonemore91. This concept is incredible. Again, obviously something in the NEIPA style. The look is phenomenal, given the style. White grapefruit on the nose; a bit of lime zest. Creamy as a MFer. Fully coating, so delicate. This time I'm thinking the beer is in a lower abv range, but I'm probably wrong. I am thoroughly enjoying this beer, and so is the gf. Cheers!

And now, time for the reveal...
What are the odds that I would grab another foiled wrapped iteration of Fort Point? This is the DDH version. I never would have guessed it. Good lawwwd! Peace.

Finished this before I got around to posting. Now drinking this:

Goldilock's Revenge a smoked imperial stout aged in brandy barrels. Decent but the smoke seems a bit artificial, like liquid smoke.

At a friends home. He is watching his weight and pouring “a fine Pilsner beer” Lite Beer from Miller. This beer is not all that bad, slightly malty a bit of hops, refreshing but not a “fine Pilsner” by any stretch of the imagination.

Seriously who makes an indoor brat cooker? Nice beer though, one of the few good things coming out of Minneapolis these days.

Dark and opaque brown body; dense and creamy head, sculpted and sticky. Barely any aroma; a faint touch of sweetness and cocoa. Nice subdued dark sweetness; cocoa and a bit of milk chocolate; a touch of vanilla; slightly bitter but not too much. Medium body; smooth and glassy; silky; some dryness yet has a velvety sweetness throughout.

This schwarzbier hits the spot. There is nothing overboard here. Everything is pretty well balanced throughout. The only negative is a lackluster aroma, but the look, taste, and mouthfeel hit on all cylinders.
