What beer are you drinking now? #2847

You know there are days and there are days and today is a day. Switched off the news grabbed a beer and prepared a movie marathon that could explain history to Aliens if ever tasked with that. At least we have the option to switch off for a bit and celebrate national IPA day. Just heard Trump is gonna cure this virus by election day. How perfect of timing. At least I grabbed the last of these at the liquor store. I'll pretty much try anything I see from these Guys.

 

Well, time for another after a Caps loss. Seedlings are near meaningless in hockey, so no big deal. A nod to cleaner, lighter IPAs from Aslin...


also not that big a deal, though I’m thankful for Cat Theory. I said it reminded my a little of Ocelot brews, which I’ve had none of since March. May try to fix that tomorrow.

 

I didn't get the Nosh because I'm not really into Hellertau Blanc hops. But your review (and others) leads me to think I missed out. I'm like this one a lot. After a week the yeast burn and heavy cannabis notes have mellowed nicely. They don't distract any more.

I forgot to mention it's not new can art as much as I'm showing the side of the can with the name. The other side is more artistic but there's no indication of the beer or the brewery.

Moving along to a Milkshake IPA: Two Percent, released by Magnify yesterday. I was afraid it might be too gimmicky for my liking but it's not. The Motueka hops deliver the berry taste and the Citra and Simcoe do the rest. I'm not sure how this will taste after a week or so in the can but I'll drink 'em by then.

 

Didn’t have the Oktoberfest I was looking for yet at my distro, but a case of these will more than suffice.

I'm taking the afternoon off. The raid on my cellar continues—206 bottles to go, almost all of them 22oz or 750mL. Approximately 33.5 gallons of beer according to the little calculator I set up in my Excel beer inventory spreadsheet (taking beer geekdom to a new high).

Not sure about the vintage on this one; at least 3 to 4 years for sure. Label just has an imprint that says "Release No. 13." Only the third Utah beer I'll have reviewed in 10 years of doing it. Cheers!
