Good morning BAs! Stayed up late with the family binge watching season 3 of Empire Boardwalk last night...this morning’s chores done, it’s coffee time - CW’s BBA “Peruvian Morning” (2018):

My last bottle. Barest whiff of coffee in the nose, none left on the tongue. Bourbon oak chocolate and some booze (11.7%). Typical thin feel; good tasting; easy drinking; but was better tasting in 2018 and in 2019. Now I know...don’t age this coffee stout. Cheers brothers and sisters of the Now, and have a familial Friday y’all!

'16 BCBS. This one was a bit of a gusher when I opened it. No off flavors though...tastes fantastic.

Awesome hazy pale ale to get started from Sigma Brewing, my favorite brewery in Houston, that just started canning and distributing limited amounts locally, within the past few months.

This one just hit the distribution streets within a week or so.

I’ve spent the morning (sunny! hot! humid!) tending to the yard and potted plants. Mr. Tran is here now to mow and edge. I’m holed up in the office with the two dogs (they go nuts otherwise)...good time to drink, BA review/ my style tic number 103 - Imperial Pilsner:

Orange Blossom Brewing, Lakeland, FL, “ Orange Blossom Pilsner 2”:

A fluffy off white head of one finger sits atop pale amber liquid with excellent clarity; poor cap retention; thin ring, spotty lace at best; medium legs sheet the glass upon swirl. Strong orange blossom and honey nose; boozy exhale. Taste is sweet orange marmalade with honey right behind; somewhat phenolic; honey flavored cough drop finish. Medium plus body, moderate minus carbonation; alcohol bite on tip of tongue; warmth in mouth from 11% abv. Overall, I like!; smells like an aged Sauternes, feels/tastes like a watered down Meade; tics my sweet tooth box, and my love of high abv “boozy” beers when well done; if ever there was a “sipping” Pilsner, this is it!

Alright, decided on a formal review - Oskar Blues C-O-B DIPA (Citra). 8.2%
    Canned 7.15.20 - opened 8.7.20

    From a 12 oz can

    4/5 rDev -0.5%
    look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4(4.25) | feel: 4 | overall: 4

L - Murky golden yellow, great head, not much lacing, oddly (could be my glass).
S - Tropical gummy bear-pineapple-citrus explosions. The usual that one would expect with Citra (my fave hop)
T - More tropical murk notes, a really good balance between initial sweetness and then balancing bitterness on the back end. A little melon-canteloupe action apparent in this. Tastes a bit more complex than it smells. Interesting.
F - Good, mouth filling, perfect balance, would never know this is 8.2% without that bit of sweetness on initial tip-in. Nice palate impression.
O - another reasonably priced C-O-B offering, with a bit higher octane. Will not turn this down, ever.

TGIF Advocates. Sipping on some mortalis Prometheus the god of fire. This Imperial Stout showcases white macadamia nuts, Dominican cacao nibs, Marcona almonds, dark grade maple syrup, and beans roasted by Mostra Coffee. Super silky smooth and a maple bomb. Savoring every sip of this beast cheers

Rounded up a few from my fridge that looked interesting for a side by side. Ended up with Dinner, Bodhi then Pliny as my preferred order. If cost was involved then Bodhi wins easily. Have a nice Friday.

Ayinger Bräuweisse. Great beer for hot summer days. And most other days too.
    Cheers!

According to Garmin I burned about 2147 calories today with a 66 km / 41 mile bike ride.

Ayinger Bräuweisse contains about 160 calories. So theoretically some cycling (in a somewhat sporty mode) burns about 13 Ayinger Bräuweisse beers.

Not into calorie counting by the way. A neighbour recently showed me this option that is on most Garmins and others. I keep this calorie thing in the menu. Some extra motivation
