    I've been drinking a lot more Allagash Tripel as of late, and while I still think it's the best American-brewed tripel, it's still just a touch harsh and astringent. Delirium Tremens, on the other hand, is just delicate, from the nose to the finish. It somehow smells deeper, and yet drinks smoother.

    It's a good reminder that I need to drink more Belgian Tripels from, well, Belgium, no matter how good a handful of US versions can be.

    Currently riding out a (hopefully short lived) thunderstorm on our last day of vacation before we pack up tomorrow morning. I picked up several different Mikeller gose / sour ales this week, and for the most part have been relatively underwhelmed. All have been solid, but fairly meh. This one is Passion Pool.

    New brewery to me located about an hour away.

    Terre Haute Brewing Company Americana Lager
    It's a passable, but forgettable, lager. My wife has invited people to the back yard tonight, so I suspect I will be drinking bourbon from here on (I've been socially distancing long before it was accepted). 4am alarm for work should be interesting. Cheers all and enjoy your Friday!

    6% abv, 65 IBUs. From the brewer, “...this beer showcases the bold flavors and aromas of a classic West Coast IPA; intense pine and citrus with a deep gold color and slight caramel sweetness.” Giddy-up!

    Poured at 55 °, liquid is a deep gold, with excellent clarity; foamy off white head; good cap retention; soapy lacing. Strong pine and lemongrass nose/taste. Bitter Myers lemons; semi sweet caramel malt base balances the bitterness. Medium light body, moderate carbonation; no hop astringency. Overall, just the right amount of bitter citrus hops and pine notes; easy drinking and tasty.

    Yep, a Classic WCIPA, without going overboard on the bitterness. Cheers y’all!

    look: 4 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

    Fairly clear, golden body; plenty of carbonation makes the body mildly hazy; thick, frothy white head. Dull sweetness on the nose; old orange; peach and pear. Nice bit of complex flavors; wheat and other cereal grains; candi sugar; yeasty; yellow pitted fruit notes; slight caramel; orange and coriander. Heavy body; slightly syrupy; some alcohol heat.

    A flavorful and sticky beer, perhaps not as refreshing on a hot day as a good lager or pilsner or even hefeweizen, but interesting enough.

    Social distancing in place at Ocelot, and though mask wearing isn’t followed by seated patrons not actively drinking, it is when they get up.

    Gonna have one or two I can’t get to go then leave. Here’s Franconia - a Franconian lager brewed with Bingo Beer out of Richmond:
