What beer are you drinking now? #285

For IPA day I opened an IPA from Foley Brothers in VT. I wish I had bought more in Montpelier. It deserved the dimpled mug.

 

I am by no means an IPA DIPA fan, but in honor of IPA Day....:-/

 

After lunch it was Short's Dan's Pink Skirt, but right now is Right Brain Dead Kettle.

For IPA day, the one and only . . .

 

I started early. Got off early, went to my wife's ultrasound and then headed home to get IPA day going.




10-10-10 PVW aged DIPA.. Got me ONE MORE left after this. Felt today was a good day to have my second.


Here's a new guy for me.. Brewdog Hardcore DIPA.. Pretty damn good beer I might say. Reminds me of something I've had before, but for a "across the pond" American DIPA, this beer is balanced and good. The head on it is un-fucking-real.. Should be fresh, has a 3-22-14 Best By Date.



So.. then I had ONE LAST Hoptimum in the fridge...

Decided to "fresh dry hop" it with Mosaic leaf.. I had it out putting some in a keg and said.. hey!

Holy balls. They need mosaic in this beer.



And now, I'm drinking this while I prep dinner on the BGE.. Might be my last one depending how this shit hits me..
It is indeed my LAST Heady from my 4 pack I got a while back, so if there's a kind soul out there that wants to trade, you can hit the BM button.

For IPA day today, I picked up a sixer of Westbrook IPA cans, a bomber of SN Torpedo, and a bomber of RuinTen. Already polished off 2 Westbrooks and now hitting the Stone. "Hoppy, Hoppy, Hoppy!!"

 

HP in general I think needs a bit more love...I enjoy every beer of theirs I've had! Munich Gold may be my personal favorite Helles. That lone bar I go to is the sole place I've been able to find a ready supply of it around here, sadly...

 

On to #2 for me (and that will be about it for tonight). The RuinTen I just had (enjoy by 8-28) was driving me crazy with how familiar I found it, and then it struck me: something 'classic' Nugget Nectar-y about it. I have one more, I'll see if I get that feeling again. But not tonight! IPA Day demands another sacrifice:

(Damn flash...again...) That's Green Flash Imperial. More incredible than I thought it was going to be- mostly based on the 'freshness' of their other stuff around here lately. Glad I went with it- IPA Day has been belly belly good to me.
