My Mother told me once that I was living proof that there is someone for everyone, " look you found a wife" She was totally serious. My parents didn't do much to help my self esteem. Cheers.

 

Agreed, Raines was one of my all-time favorites (naturally as the White Sox and Expos are my two favorite teams (Les Expos shall return to Montreal!). Unlike Harold Baines, my favorite growing up, Raines definitely deserved the HOF, and should have been inducted within 2-3 years of first hitting the ballot.

That is a heavy hitter for the morning or pre golf. 2-3 normal beers was the sweet spot when I golfed in terms of putting and getting into a grove. Not sure what my game would be if I had a BCS first.

One "beer" and done today. It's better to taste marvelous than to look marvelous.

I'm letting the other two sit for 3-6 months, and hope a metamorphoses into a beer at some point.

Hole wore through my gym shoe, thought maybe I need to consider a different brand and then read the tongue to discover it was manufactured in September 2016. Nice to see New Balance remains a high quality U.S.A manufacturer in a world of shrinking American choices.

Not sure if Two for Thursday is a thing, but it is now. A band that was great fresh has also aged well.

Tag teaming a weird combo and making dinner. Bought a beer for my girlfriend but she didn't feel like drinking all of it so of course I offered to help.

3 Floyds Alpha King, 6.66% ABV pale ale. Guess which one was for the girlfriend

 

Hahaha I think I speak for this entire thread in saying that we would all love some pictures of Maine! What a beautiful place that must be.
I recently discovered the picture thread in the off-topics and like taking photos every now and then. Maybe I'll post a few pictures from Copenhagen sometime. Though it's easy to take it for granted when you live here it's not a bad looking city at all!

 

Busy day. Mrs. Z had her first full night’s sleep in months (yea!), got out of bed before 9am, and has been hitting me with “honey-do’s” ever since...post lunch beer - La Cumbre’s “Elevated IPA”, courtesy of @beergoot :



I’ve had this beer several times in the past, including at the brewery, but never reviewed it on this site; in short, I think it’s delicious!

Served at 50 degrees; deep gold with excellent clarity; tight white head; very good cap retention; solid ring with bands of heavy minus lacing down the entire glass. Nose is grapefruit, lemon and pine. Taste follows with bitter citrus peel; grapefruit, lemon zest and pine; semi sweet, firm malt base; bitter citrus hop finish. Medium full body; moderate carbonation; no astringency; slightly sticky feel. Overall, WCIPA delicious; tasty long bitter (100 IBUs) lemon zest linger; I would drink all the time if I lived in NM - great representation of the style.

I generally like spiced beers. This one is a little too hot.

 

I am drinking a Halo Milkshake Berliner Weisse with raspberries and passion fruit from Brewski in Sweden. 4.7%, very light and extremely refreshing. Much more of a depth of summer beverage, but hey, we drink them when the God’s of distribution make them available to us. Cheers.
