Deep dark secret alert:

Narwhal is a beer I've never had before. I know, shocking - the craft beer nerd from California hasn't had Narwhal. I didn't enjoy dark beer for a very long time, and simply avoided this for years because of that. Later, I actively avoided it because A. I assumed for whatever reason that it would be a charry, hoppy mess, and B. Once I moved to Maine, it was quite hard to get.

After finally trying this, I regret all those years of not trying this sooner. What a damn good stout. I'll be keeping this in regular rotation this season, for as long as it sticks around. It's so supremely balanced, and the gentle sweetness and subtle boiled hop note is just...Mmmm mwah!
