Joining @DoctorZombies today with a Founders Breakfast Stout, this one a little bit older though, from 2016... Light peppery notes and acidic mocha coffee taste like a cup of cold espresso. Not too bad but not as good as fresh. This one is an old favorite, and a classic that got me deeper into different beer styles. I'm looking forward to drinking this fresh again once I get rid of what's in my cellar. I'm slowly getting there. Cheers all!

Spent all morning at the DMV to get my license renewed, so I took the day off work. I could have at least put in a half a day, but got to use that PTO for something

So as a reward for getting an annoying chore done, I'm being as unproductive as possible this afternoon.

Spinning Agharta, one of the more other worldly Miles live recordings from the mi 70's. This was the first of two live shows he did in one day in Japan, and you can't really describe this well.

Ha true. I use to read a lot of critical music reviews back in the day (would always get a bunch of magazines, and then of coarse the endlessness that is the internet). I remember reading one about this album, as the reviewer is trying to describe the state of Miles as an artist, and what his bands were doing at the time, he finally realized it was useless. So the review ended, with him just saying LISTEN thats all you got to do

Critics usually have a preconceived notion about what something should be like, not seeming to take into account that art is art and it has no boundaries, and that sometimes different is better.

Yep, agreed. Though there are times when I think critics can help, especially when someone is just getting started in a genre. I would never have given this album a chance if I didn't read that review 25 years ago. It wasn't all glowing, but he realized somethings just transcend. I wish I still had that somewhere or could remember who wrote it...probably All About Jazz magazine as I was a big fan of them when they were big in the 90's and could get it for free as a student playing in a jazz band

A classic strong altbier. Way better than any altbier I've tried. A little extra hop character lends a really nice subtle herbal/spicy German hop touch, and it seems like it's a bit maltier, yet not actually sweeter. Whatever the case may be, I think it's fantastic, and short of resting some double mash altbier in a bourbon barrel for two years, I can't think of a way to improve this. Excellent stuff!

    Cheers!

Are you saying that Without Remose film has been released?? If so, I hope they do a better job of capturing the complexities of the story than the shoddy work Hollywood did with Sum of All Fears. Grant it, to do any of the original Clancy novels justice, they should be produced as a mini-series.

Might have to sign into youtube for the first time in a year to save these in a playlist or on my favorites so I don't forget them. So much great music has been lost in time because I don't have the files bought or downloaded. I get most of my music from youtube now. :relaxed:
