What beer are you drinking now? #2913

Starting my Sunday off with a Bells Expedition Special Reserve. This is stupid smooth. Going to take my time and enjoy as I could only score a 4 pack. Hopefully I can find more. Have a great Sunday everyone.

Good morning, BAs! I hosted an outdoor, socially distanced pumpkin beer tasting last night. I really don’t dig pumpkin beers much anymore, but I love hosting blind tastings. Here was our lineup:


I kept it pretty simple. We rated each beer out of 5, then I averaged the results. I had to eliminate the pumpkin cider from the results, since it received a rating of 10/5 from one gal, and a “YASSS” rating from another

These were our top 3 as a group:


Good Gourd wasn’t the #1 favorite of any of us, but we all rated it highly, so it came out on top. My personal favorites were Lancaster’s Baked Pumpkin and Whole Hog Pumpkin, but neither made the collective top 3.

Anyway, I really don’t want another pumpkin beer for a hot minute at least, so starting this dreary Sunday morning with something completely different.



@superspak I’ll know I’ve found the one when she accepts my love of Sunday morning drinking. Congrats on your love life coming together!

Good morning BAs. Beercation Day#3. I’ve had my breakfast, now for some juice - Finback’s “Fat Mango”:



Strong mango nose and taste! I could do without the slight hop burn on the tip of the tongue; otherwise smooth and creamy with lots of mango. Cheers from Mt. Pleasant SC!

Finishing off last night’s Unicorn Blood by Arkane Aleworks:



Sour raspberry and tart key lime! Creamy vanilla/lactose nose. A tasty Florida Weisse.

This is a blueberry stout, but I think I remember hearing the word bilberry used to describe the box huckleberry. That plant is Pennsylvania’s oldest living organism, with one said to be as much as 13,000 years old.
