I am so liking this north Iowa hop beer. Lake Time Brewing just makes good stuff. If I weren't going to South Dakota next Sunday, I'd go to Iowa instead.

 

FFF Permanent Funeral. Still a classic. Remember chasing down bombers of these 6 years ago like it was yesterday.

 

Good looking dog. If I did not know better it looks like someone is staring at the beer like he/she has had a sample at some point.

That said, I enjoyed the post. A hell of a lot better than my mostly boring beer posts.

Caribou by Foam is amazing. I wish this stuff was easier to get around me. It’s a bit pricy, but worth it.

Had mussels for dinner.


R. Shea Hot Chocolate With Marshmallows. Delicious. Lasting rocky head/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, marshmallow, cinnamon, habanero, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crusts; with lighter notes of vanilla, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, peppercorn, and yeast earthiness. A bit of dark fruity yeast in the aromas. Light-moderate herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness; and light pepper spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/silky/bready malts; some sticky hops and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy dryness, no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors. Nicely smooth/soft, mild increasing warmth of 8% and lingering pepper heat after the finish. Definitely a bit more for people who like peppers in their beers. It has a good bit of a spicy edge to it, but not overwhelming. Really well done! 3.91

Summer by Tree House an Imperial IPA
I reviewed it over on New Beer Weekend
It rated out for me to a 4.56 8.1 abv.
Mango and clementine, smooth full mouthfeel with a bit of lingering rind finish, I loved it.
I feel it's nicely crafted and hits just about everything I like in that style.

Those mussels look awesome! Prior to this Covid shit ate my share of mussels, clams, and oysters. Beer is not too shabby either my friend.
