What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2959

Happy Thanksgiving BA! Back to the breakfast club on this festive day, made with real cereal so it counts as healthy right?

 

To be fair if you drinking over years it spread the cost out, that’s what I keep telling myself about my 2017 bottle, gets better over time!

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving BAs! Lovely day forecast - low 80s and sunny, which is typically where we are this time of year. Starting with a cellar pull - Bell’s “Black Note Stout” (2017):



As expected, this beer has aged well. Bourbon and plums nose. Bitter roast coffee, bittersweet dark chocolate, bourbon and slightly sweet dark fruit flavors. Silky feel, medium plus body, some warmth from 11.2% abv. Finish is bittersweet dark chocolate, linger is bitter roast coffee. Awesome way to start my day. The best beer by far from Crux (IMHO). BA ratings on it have increased since this 2019 vintage release. Pitmaster's treat while getting an early start with the turkey and the smoker on low-&-slow. We'll switch to white wine for the bird late this afternoon.

Happy Thanksgiving, BAs! Second straight solo one for me. Last year it was me, @GreenBayBA , and a few others in that situation, but I feel like this year we’ll need a bigger boat. Better safe than sorry!

Had the @Roguer breakfast of champions already (mmmmmm pumpkin pie), now slowly getting into it with this 8 day old Tired Hands offering. All of their ddh’s have been fire, and this one continues the trend.

This very special beer is a gift from @Victory_Sabre1973! Thank you, sir! He gave it to me this summer, and I knew right away that I would drink it on Thanksgiving! This beer is not only rare, but it has sentimental value for me, as my parents are from southwestern, Minnesota. This beer was brewed in a small town in-between the small towns where I have visited my grandparents my whole life. I will be spending the holiday by myself, at home, like @CanConPhilly, but I will see my family this weekend. I am excited for a relaxing holiday!

 

One might thinks it depends on the cereal, of course. I think you can count it as breakfast, at least.

Then again, could barley be considered a “cereal grain” even if not used often as such? If so, wouldn’t all beers be cereal, and therefore breakfast worthy?

A lot to ponder as the holiday season starts...

I capped my last beer so I can share the rest with my family this weekend. I was eager to try the 2020 vintage of this beer. It is as delicious as ever!

 

Happy Thanksgiving advocates. Hope you're all with your loved ones and drinking well. This year has been a shit show but days like this make it a little better. Drinking some monkish as they have wowed me with their haze this year. Cheers and many more to come today
