Have a good Cyber Monday. I was thinking of swapping out my Acer tower into a full size tower so I can have more room for a full size graphics card. Going on Newegg all day looking around. I want a 1400p 144hz monitor as well eventually. I slept from after my girlfriend left yesterday morning until 930pm last night. We had a quick 15 minute video skype chat. Not much to be said after such an amazing weekend. I had 4 PBJ sandwiches on Pumpernickel and then Cinnamon brown Sugar Eggo, Jif PB, and syrup was amazing together. I basically ate it like toast. I made 2 servings.

Also caught an action packed wrestling match from the cats on film.

Doing a review for once. Most of these things have been very enjoyable so far. This was really nice. Aromas and flavors of big fresh ripe red strawberries, fruit skin/seeds, citrus, grain, white sugar syrup, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Touch of alcohol booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Light herbal/grassy bitterness and alcohol spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation and body; with a very smooth and lightly slick/syrupy/sticky mouthfeel that is great. A bit crisp on carbonation, slightly refreshing. Mild increasing warmth of 8% after the finish. 3.97

Good day all and I hope this week starts on the right track for y’all.

Drinking La Trappe Quadrupel... still awesome as ever. Perfect fall/autumn beer too.

Last drawing to date inspired by a certain actor. If you recognize him well I’m flattered, if you even recognize from which movie this drawing takes its inspiration you get a double like.

    Cheers!

Clue: Not this movie but around that era...

Good day BAs! Another cold and rainy morning morning, definitely sliding downhill into winter. Today's New Breakfast Beer is one I've been drinking occasionally since 2012, but recently discovered I'd never reviewed:

I'm not a big fan of scotch ales/wee heavies but a couple of times a year I feel the need, so why not go with one I can always find? 3.94, rDev -10%.

I am having this with bacon buttys for breakfast. I'm not sure if life is awesome or I need to rethink some things. This bacon fried up perfectly. I will tell you one thing though that French Toast Imperial Stout from UA/AC I had the other seems to have completely ruined my palate for maple because I usually like this beer and now it just reminds me of that French Toast monstrosity.

    Cheers all

Not making this up but that’s exactly what I was thinking. The IPAHunter beat me to the punch, so I’m a day late and a buck short. Sort of the last of Walter Hill’s real macho man movies that began about a decade earlier with Extreme Prejudice. Trespass and Johnny Handsome from this era are also great entertainment. Cheers.

This is the first of two "beers for science" planned for today. When I last left Jai Alai, I rated it one of the worst beers I've ever had, that it tasted nearly the same to a Lipton Sugar Filled Ice Tea. The taste was consistent throughout the entire six pack.

Decided to buy a single, to give it one more chance, in light of the fact that so many on Beer Advocate and across the globe love it. I expected to confirm my earlier opinion, but thankfully this was not the case. In the first time in my nearly six years of rating beers, I am nuking my original review, and rating it below.

    Cigar City Jai Alai

    Beer Can Disclosures:
    12 oz canned 9/22/20 @ 23:05 (late late night); 7.5%, 65 IBUs.

Appearance: Clear bronze tan pour, creamy rich egg white head lingers for a few minutes, soapy lacing left throughout the pour. Persistent carbonation throughout. 3.75

    Aroma:
Nice hoppy aroma, citrus, lemon, lead. Sweet malt base backs, caramel and bread. Smells like a solid MWIPA style offering. 3.5

    Taste:
Very well crafted and balanced IPA. Dry bitter hops take charge, the citrus and lemon leading in the nose taking a back seat, but asserting themselves to the point of providing a balance to the bitterness. Malt sustained and emerges as I work through this offering. Bread and caramel sweet and pleasant. Overall very good IPA, more WCIPA style than the aroma would lead. 4.0

    Moutfeel:
Light medium body, strong persistent carbonation throughout, dry and bitter lead, bitterness offset by malt sweetness but not enough to balance, light dryness lingers post pour. 4.0

    Overall:
I'm glad I gave this beer a second chance. While it sucked I had to work through a terrible batch a few months ago, this 2 month old can is a totally different beer, and I believe the typical representation of this beer. Nicely dry and bitter, backed by a pleasant sweet bread cracker malt, overall this is a well craft widely available IPA. 3.75

A toast to second chances, in beer and in life.

I’d like to add that it’s clearly Bruce Willis. My skills are not as sharp as Mr. Hunter’s, so a mere single like for me, I suppose?:beers:

    Point being, well done!

Second and final beer today on behalf "beer science", Sierra Nevada Celebration.

My initial rating is 3.51 (-15.8% rDev), reflective of a good beer per Beer Advocate guidelines. Every third November beer in WBAYDN seemed to feature a SN Celebration. I was still new to rating at the time, and my reviewed bottle was likely 3 months old, so I'm taking a second chance at this two month old bottle today (bottled 9/28/20).

I find the beer enjoyable, heavy sweet malt presence, hops provides balances but does not add much to the taste. I'm leaving my initial review the same, glad I drank today but it is not a beer I would actively seek out, especially in the prime Fall beer release season. It is a good beer, but too many better beers for me to seek out each Fall.

Enjoying the beer, and hoping each and every one of you celebrate another day of living today.

A toast to Bruce Willis, and of course Maddie!
