Having a new one from Atelier der Braukünste - Test Trace Isolate 2nd Wave Version Triple Dry-Hopped IPA. The 1st one of these in the Spring and it was glorious. This one is not far behind. Fun fact: it has a scratch and sniff can (pine scent) to help you test if you can still smell...

It’s hard to know where to start when posting a song from Neil Young. I chose this one because I’ve always loved it and it won’t be in the first tier of familiar songs for many people. KBS Espresso

 

Station 26 Juicy Banger IPA. Not what I'd classify as juicy but it does bang.

 

Ok, dinner in the books, onto the promised Black Butte Porter:


Definitely more bitter - roasty as much as hops - than the Raven’s Roost. Actually might be a little closer to the Anchor Special Ale, but proving myself wrong will have to wait for another day.

 

A pale ale brewed by Kindred Spirit. Not bad for a 4.8% ABV.

 

This beer is great. Believe it or not carbon is a Newfoundland but his ear is flopped up cuz he's rolling around.

 

Appropriate beer for tonight- Troegs Double Blizzard IPA

 

Work was insane today. 2 MASSIVE deliveries that had to be sorted out, and put out, and it was pretty busy.

I think I've earned this beauty now that I'm home.

Pours a nice very dark brown. Beautiful rolling carbonation in the glass as I was pouring the beer. 3 finger frothy tan head. Head retention is downright amazing for the ABV. The head just clings to the glass like glue as it dissipates and is beautiful.
The nose is really mild. This shocks me. It's not offensive, it's just lacking in any depth. There's a hint of dark chocolate, but very faint. Just so little there. It's not served really cold - it's at 59.
Taste - What the aroma lacks, the flavor makes up for it. It seems to have 2 chocolate flavor profiles. It has a darker chocolate up front, that mellows into a smooth milk chocolate on the backside.
The body is thick, smooth, and creamy feeling. There's a slight warming from the higher alcohol.
This is a great beer, in spite of the lack of an aroma.

 

Sloop Juicier Bomb... kind of a letdown. Feels like they forgot to dry-hop it or just left the dry-hop the same as its younger brother beer while they added more malt and changed the mash a bit to get it to 8%. Kinda underwhelming to be honest.
