Sierra Nevada Narwhal as I wrap up a brew day. Don’t drink until the end, usually. Just letting the hops soak at KO. Going classic WC with no oats or wheat and using centennial, ctz and cascade.

 

Hubbard's Cave Double Chocolate Brownie. It's sweet, yes, but has a substantial roast coffee bitterness and some anise to balance that out a little bit, but otherwise it's mostly a dark chocolate syrup. It's good, but not approaching their best.

 

Nice! I bought 5 four packs to split between me and my dad. The grocery store where I bought it said they usually get 5 cases each of Focal and Heady when they get a drop. Eight days old and tasting incredible. Cheers!

 

A second beer with a light lunch, Revolution / Hop Butcher Collaboration WCIPA Base, a very good beer still holding on after the mid Summer release.

In 2003, my choice for my first (and only) purchased house was a very small house in Ogden Dunes or staying in Chicago but moving to a more reasonable cost area for my Condo (was in West Lakeview renting). The house is worth almost double, the condo is worth about the same as I purchased it (not even accounting for the inflation loss), with a property tax rate which has more than tripled in 17 years.

To answer your question, I'm several miles inland in Chicago's far NW side, so we rarely get lake effect snow. Harrah's/CET has a shuttle that takes mostly older and lower/middle class people to the Horseshoe out of the Jewel parking lot near my house, but they shut down the shuttle at least a month ago because of the Rona spike.

Is 18th Street or the other bars/breweries open for indoor service in NW Indiana these days?

Next up here, Max Legroom DIPA. Super amplified, almost too hoppy, some cilantro oniony garlicy notes come out, resinous peppery spice, fruity, less so than the regular Legroom, more dank, earthy, resinous, spicy. An intensely hoppy beer that shows it's green side right now, might need to condition a little longer, otherwise super hoppy and nice. Cheers all!

 

I got to meet up with the famous @PapaGoose03 yesterday. He dropped some great beer on me. Started with this one. Great maple on this.

 

Beer #4. It does taste meaty, I’ll give it that.
