last one for the foreseeable future as of now. This one is shockingly amazing. Contender for my favorite beer of 2020. Simply awesome. You can find my review here if you care. Too much to say about this one. Let me know. 2021 please be the year of sessionable styles.

    peace out.

My friends and family have learned that when shopping for gifts for me, it is best to go into select liquor stores, ask for the owner or manager, then just say they are there to buy beer for me. I have been blown away by the selections that I have received so far this holiday season!

Happy Christmas Eve, BAs! This is usually my favorite day of the year, although it is not feeling that way today. I usually don’t mind being alone, as an introvert and all. But the holidays without family just feels a little empty, you know? Hoping 2021 will bring better times.

Mornin' - pissy as hell, sadly, after a night of insomnia, but at least I have some cassoulet to look forward to, tomorrow. First step, as always, is to soak your (Tarbais) beans!
Found another big TRVE fridge lurker in the back, why go small today?
    Happy foundling day. Cheers!

Ok, I had the newer variant again last night, and it had the most fudge brownie forward flavor I'd perceived across the four or so I've had. I had purchased CBS to compare, even though the CBS is a bit older, being a store-aged version from last year.

Let's see what I think of the differences and similarities of CBS and Mackinac Fudge stouts from Founders.

The newer beer looks a little better, but hey, it's newer and has had less time to give up its carbonation - however lightly it might fade over a year. CBS actually has a little brownie aroma to it, although not nearly as fudgy as the Mackinac. Compared, the CBS is maybe a little more dark chocolate bar where the Mackinac is more semisweet. There's a hint of coffee in the CBS, but I cannot detect it at all in Mackinac.

CBS has a roasted stout/coffee with the lightest hint of earthy maple. Mackinac isn't as sweet as the aroma would indicate, but does have more of a chocolate vibe - which isn't a surprise. I am still getting some coffee flowing underneath, peaking just after mid taste with a slight bitterness. The Mackinac Fudge is a bit thicker, with a more bitter aftertaste, where there's a little bit of maple left in CBS' afterglow.

    So, yeah, why not...

Actually... one of the better cuvées I've had from these silly side-by-sides, it balances out the sweetness levels between the two.

Started with a White Christmas Eve, listening to some Jack White on my morning walk. So not too surprising, he doesn't really have a holiday song of any sort easily found on the webs, but I did find this:

    Good morning BA’s
It’s almost 55 degrees and sunny so Mr’s G and I decided to take a coffee break from prepping veggies and polishing silverware for tonight’s family dinner.
