The one on the left doesn't look very appetizing. How'd it taste?

Rolled the dice on a newish 4-pack of King Sue I came across today, after one really bad batch in the Summer and a mediocre batch in the Fall. Verdict: slight improvement over the Fall batch, especially in taste, but the mouthfeel is a shadow of what it was even a year ago. Last year at this time, it was super creamy and tropical . . . not sure I can give these guys another chance.

12 year-old Scotch - very enjoyable - aged in both whisky and sherry oak barrels...

And now, my first beer of 2021, KBS Espresso...
A super-fave - the original KBS (coffee and chocolate, aged in bourbon barrels) is "aged on espresso beans after being removed from the barrels" - really delivers the goods for me - sweet molasses, chocolate and coffee up front - chocolate-syrupy body soaked with espresso flavors - turns bittersweet midway between sips, and if allowed, starts to dry out on the palate, with an oaky finish...

Great start to the year, cleaned up and got all the decor down, got a direct deposit stimulus check from the government, and diggin' on this groovy beer... It's bourbon after this - maybe see you over there...

Happy New Year, BA - cheers...

    The music to my ears...
