Been saving this one. Very nice....but I'm not sure it is $0.83/ounce nice, especially when compared to the enjoyment I get out of some other barrel-aged offerings that are only $0.50 per ounce. However, the Murph-dog likes to play with the box...so there's that to consider.

Thanks! I love trem bars, it's part of the charm of a strat imho. I don't typically use them to do dive bombs, the reality is that that's not what they were designed for.

I use them mainly for accents although I don't rule out an occasional dive bomb if I feel it. Dive bombs are not a particularly melodic application. Cheers!!!

Man I had not heard about that. Some of my favorite shelf beers are from them. I really dig that beer. Really sad for his family.

Saint Errant Tilt-A-Whirl TIPA (Nelson Sauvin, Citra, Motueka). These guys have been hit or miss since they’ve switched locations to brew, but I think this beer shows they have hit their stride again. A Nelson bomb that I know @TheIPAHunter would be proud of.

Intense and aggressively hopped. Juicy, but still has a nice dryness and bitterness on the finish. White grape skin and juice, earthiness, hop spice, slight orange creamsicle, ripe tangerine, orange candy, lemon zest, lime sherbet, mango skin, sweet floral, yellow grapefruit, fresh cut grass, and pine resin. Smooth for the 8.7%. Super soft and creamy feel. Damn. One of the better hazies I’ve had out of the Chicagoland area in recent memory.

Second beer of the year. I really had no interest in NB beers after the massive disappointment that is Fat Tire, but I'm glad I tried this and Voodoo Ranger.

Deep, dark brown color, clear as much as can be gleaned; thick and frothy light khaki head; sticky rings and fingers of lacing cling to the glass. Robust roasted grain note on the nose; cocoa. Rich flavors of cocoa and grain char; coffee-like; moderate grain sweetness offset with a bracing bitterness. Heavy body; silky and rich on the palate; big residual sugar body tempered with a mild bit of dryness.

It's been at least 12 years since I last tried this beer on tap at the brewer. I can't say I remember the tasting experience from that far back, but this can experience is pretty tasty and enjoyable. It is straight-forward, no nonsense -- a real pleasure to drink.

This one is for @JayORear. Another top drawer double by New Trail, off the charts juice with perfect resin and drying bitterness. Fuckin A solid. $15/4 locally, this is insane value. In comparison to Goggles, this is a hair thinner, but never thin. Its a toss up which is better depending on which hops you prefer. Already looking forward to Snow Angel as per their FB page
