Thanks for saying that man. I am at this bar 365 days a year. Cheers to you and sorry about your friend, he would have been my age today. Ripping off some Definitive and I am really thirsty right now.[IMG]

Hay Andrew I am getting concerned about these over eager pours lately my friend. Like any guy you can never have too much head, but lately you are taking it to a whole new level cheers man.

On the contrary, I was quite pleased with this pour. That's the entire can, right there, and I had plenty of room to evaluate the head.

Now, that pilsner pour from the other day ... yeah, that was way overeager on my part, but once I started going down that track, I decided to just go all in, because at that point it was just funny. :grinning:

I'm drinking a Rascal Cream Ale, it tastes more like a Hoppy Blonde Ale than a traditional Cream Ale.
Not nearly as good as the Dunkel I just had from them.
    Cheers!

“Beer” #2. The best n/a ipa I’ve yet tried. If I had to give up booze completely, I could survive with this.

Beautiful, clear dark copper body; head fades somewhat yet leaves nice lacing and rings of thin foam on the glass. Toasted malt grain smell; caramel. Mild malt sweetness with a touch toasted grain; a bit of ester presence; very low hop bitterness. Medium body; smooth and glassy.

The beer seems to be a cross between a German bock and a Vienna lager. I suppose my perception of mild esters would point more towards a German bock. Regardless, it is a tasty, malt-forward lager, brewed by The Phoenix Brewing Company exclusively for the D|L|X Restaurant.

Malty with a fruity middle and a bitter back that undercuts the others without eliminating them.

Hey, Saint Arnold has a new year round pilsner out. 5 O'Clock was always one of my favorites in Texas, was sad to see it mysteriously vanish without a word. They just released H-Town Pils this week and I love it.

Along with some funky late 70's Ornette Coleman Of Human Feelings.

    H-Town Pils review:
Pours with a beautiful clarity, golden/orange color. A dense white head rises to over two fingers, with excellent retention. Plenty of lace is left behind.
A simple aroma, of baked bread that I just love, and lemony grassy hops. With a nice peppery spice. Less is more here, and I love it.
Taste is of baked bread, sourdough and a bit more malty than some of their other Pils of late. Especially more so than 5 O'Clock. Then the Saaz like hops come in. Grassy, peppery, light bitterness in the finish. Excellent.
A medium body with moderate carbonation. I bit softer than I was expecting but that is not a bad thing. Superbly clean and finishes dry. Downed in big gulps, and I'm already looking to get more.

5 O'Clock had a more intense Saaz hop character than this. Saying that, the grassy, peppery spice is still here, just a little more subtle. Which helps highlight the malts better IMO. Another excellent Pils by Saint Arnold, and glad this is a new Year Round offering. Hope this stays.

    Overall score: 4.24

I suspect I'm going to need a lot more to make it through tonight. I am beyond furious and disgusted. I'll leave it at that.

"Cheers" doesn't sound right under the circumstances.
