What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3011

Good morning BAs! Overcast and 58° now...probably won’t get out of the 60s...I will likely stay home again today...

By no means a new to me beer, but one of the couple thousand I have reviewed elsewhere but not on this site...not feeling like a stout this morning, I’m drinking a favorite - Duvel:



Bottle has best by date of 12/21. Poured at 53 degrees. Pale gold with excellent clarity; four fingers of rocky white foam; never ending cap retention; heavy lacing to bottom of glass. Moderate spicy phenols, clove, fruity esters. Spicy black pepper, clove, grapefruit, green apple; light sweet malt base; some hop bitterness on backend. High carbonation; soft prickly mouthfeel; medium light body; some warmth from 8.5% abv; crisp dry finish. Overall, simply world class and best in class; well blended layers of fruit and spice; very easy drinking and satisfying; peppery bitter linger. I need to buy more often as this style I greatly enjoy. Cheers y’all.

Both home from working OT, done with shooting practice and white cloths in the wash. My Death by Coconut and her Mimosa. Yesterday at Big Top Brewing in Gainesville it was unlimited mimosa's from 1000 - 1300. There were at least 80 "UF college kids" in a continuous snake line going back for refills, it was hilarious.

Thank you, love your posts as well. Saturday is my one "rock" day each week, I also enjoy the Yacht Rock evening METV radio show before shifting back to jazz, blues and other genres. Grew up a few blocks from the original WXRT/WSCR radio station across the street from Foreman HS, before they moved downtown.
