This beer should be available more often, and in 16 oz cans. I love it. On the Wings of Armageddon. Peace...

Gary Barlow has one of the greatest voices that the average person doesn't know. Just listen.

Its Holler Park time, with beers and book. Love hanging out here when nobody else wants to go out on a lazy weekday afternoon. As always, Dollar Pils is great, and my buddy's burger is amazing. From Witchcraft Burgers.

Next up is Czech My Phone, another great pils, and my favorite of the two (though not by much). Got a 4 pack to take home as well.

Working my way through this crazy fantasy novel. One part Lovecraft, one part Peake, one part Dickens :sunglasses:

Enjoying the hell out of this year's Hopslam. Did I mention I'm flying solo tonight? The GF's at her mom's after she (her mom) received her first vaccine shot today.

Hey @scream having some red wine with takeout. Proud of me?

I will not bore you with my heat pump horror story today but suffice it to say it sucked.

Great music selection. Are you familiar with Tom Chaplin of Keane? I saw him solo several years ago in L.A. and was blown away. Similar vibe and tone.

Next up from Holler is the new Quad Goals. Yep, you guest it, a Belgian Quad, but they added dates smoked by a great BBQ place called Feges BBQ. 10.5% ABV.

Pours a dark brown/ruby red color. A one finger beige head forms with good retention. Sticky lace is left behind.
The nose has fruity esters and dark fruits. Plums, figs, sweet caramel/dates. Baked bread and darker malts round it out.
Like the nose, taste is tons of dark fruits. Figgy and plums, and dates. Which I find adds a unique sweetness, with just a hint of smoke. Darker malts and bread come into play. While enjoyable, the sweetness does become a bit strong in the finish.
A full body, with chewy malts and moderate carbonation. This becomes ultra smooth. A warming sipper that I can come back to.

There is a substantial amount of sweetness here, but the fruits and malt all help to balance somewhat. Its a pretty good example of the style, even if it becomes a little cloying. A good warmer, that I can only really have one of in a sitting. Though enough is going on to make me want to come back and have some more at a later time. Like always, well made from Holler.

    Overall score is 3.84

I have two trains of thought, first is this seems less “edgy” than I recall. Not in a bad way. Softer on the palate.
    Second , I don’t love cans however,
It will however be in my backpack more!

Drinking a Simcoe dry hopped pale lager The Essential Torch from Trillium. Pretty nice, dank resinous pine, citrus marmalade, crackery bready honey biscuity malts, crisp, clean feeling. Cheers everyone!

Interesting description, I'd definitely give it a try if I ever see it around here which is unlikely.
