    Good morning one and all. I have an appropriate early morning beer, also reviewed for New Beer Weekend. Long story short, this is an excellent Milk Stout, one of my favorites.

    Will return with a second new beer while I'm enjoying both Saturday Morning Flashback and the Derby, hoping Liverpool can reverse their recent fortunes and hold off a loss to Everton for the first time since 2010.

    1988 is the year for this morning's WXRT Saturday Morning Flashback. Here are a few of my favorites I enjoyed in 1988, though likely the Smithereens will be the only song considered by the station!

    I’m having a bit of a Tripel momentum. Maredsous, Westmalle and now Karmeliet. I love Tripels, easily in my top 5 styles. Hard to topple American or Russian Imp Stouts though, along with some classic WCIPA and BSPA. Ahh shut your pie hole Shanex and just admit it: you love beer, period.

    Good day BAs! Off to a cool and snowing start to the day - was supposed to go to a gun show this morning but because of the weather, I guess I'll stay home. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

    Nice and mapley - the vanilla enhances the maple but otherwise I can't detect any vanilla. Still, OK. Rating 3.87, rDev -6.7%.

    Houblon Chouffe is a more than good Belgian IPA. Houblon just means hops in proper English.
