Central Waters Why Is The Cake Gone? Imperial Porter, 13.3% ABV. Pours Black with a one-finger light brown head that left no lacing. Nose is vanilla cake, buttercream frosting, and rum. Taste follows plus batter, slightly sweet, slightly bitter. Excellent mouthfeel, if a bit light on carbonation. Nose is much better than the flavor here.

I was a bit disappointed with the flavor on this one. If it had matched the nose, it would have been one of my highest rated. I love rum, but it overpowered the cake unfortunately. @Benish nailed in his review what I was smelling on the frosting, buttercream. I was thinking buttermilk, but he nailed it.

As I read the story, the non-banned titles shot to the top, obviously. Didn’t realize the publisher pulled them, but to me it amounts to basically the same problem and I’ll stick with my original position about where we are with this type of thing. Cheers.

I love Speedway. I have the Speedway with Espresso and Madagascar Vanilla in my fridge. I may have to crack open that one tonight.
