Had a good day today. Visited daughter #1 and granddaughter. Daughter #2 and her husband were there also.

I am a bit disappointed in this beer. Although I love the beer and had it many times before, this six pack seemed “off.”

Ferndale Project -- Giant Leap (New England style double IPA)

    look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Dirty yellow-orange body topped with a thick and frothy head, white and rocky. The smell starts with a strong dose of ripe peach; some tropical fruit elements; a twist of biscuit-like malt. Mild yellow-pitted fruit esters with a creamy biscuit malt base; papaya; low-key hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body; semi-creamy on the palate yet a tad weak; dull sweetness overall.

This is a very nice beer, bringing some nice non-citrus fruit flavors to the palate.

Two new beers from a brewery I don't remember hearing about before, Ferndale Project: Small Step and Giant Leap. Seemed like I had to drink them side by side, so here we are...

Done now with garage chores and (as far as I know) other house chores.

Just realized we have six different hot sauces on the go. Thank God I’m not obsessive.

Almost movie time. A Spanish film called The Last Circus, which according to the reviews has strong language, bloody violence, nudity and strong sexual content. In other words, everything a growing boy needs on a Sunday night.

    Beer number four. Cheers. [IMG]

I believe I have had two or three of them. I certainly have had my share of Hazy Little Thing. I think it is one of the best IPAs you can buy “off the shelf. “ No need to stand in a beer line at a local brewery to get a good IPA when this one is so readily accessible.

If my mother was coaching the Flyers from her death bed, I’d still root against them.
The Caps are starting to make me feel like that a little. Cheers

An IPA brewed by Triple Crossing. Their flagship Falcon Smash IPA is pretty good. I did not note that much difference with the DDH version. Perhaps a side by side would be a better way to figure it out.

    Bottled on November 18, 2020.

Gentle to moderate pour yields a 3/4 light pink head over a translucent reddish-pink body with some sticky lacing. Nose of all raspberry with just the slightest funk. Taste mirrors nose with tart raspberry and a bit of lemon on the finish. Simply delicious! Very nice feel and overall, a damn good raspberry wild ale and worthy of much praise. Cheers to the crew at Allagash for yet another standout offering!
