    Pale, straw yellow body; very lively carbonation; thick, sparsely soapy, white head; some rings and patchy globs of foam adhere to the glass. Mild cracker-like aroma blending with an herbal smell. Light, malty flavor; earthy sweetness; low-key hop bitterness; finishes with a biscuit-like flavor. Light body; mildly sweet mouthfeel; finishes with a touch of dryness.

    For a rice lager, this one isn't bad. It comes across fairly lightweight overall yet has just enough delicate flavor and mouthfeel to suit the style.

    ...not the same cut as on the Blue Note Re-Issue Series vinyl set...

    You are spot on, that was my favorite of the six available to us, and I have been to 3 Floyd’s in Indiana and preferred Zombie Dust on tap (altough I liked the Alpha King a lot too on tap). Yeah, you were being really naughty asking for that! :grinning: I was unable to purchase it when I was there, but on a trip to Cleveland I did manage to get a bottle! Cheers!

    My last 2016 Bigfoot. Things haven't been great recently, i'm considering withdrawing from college, working a simple temporary job and get my mind right. But in any case i've still got great beer, can't take that away from me.

    My new weight bench should arrive in the next day or so. Excited about the versatility and the fact it’s rated for a lot more weight than the old, old one I’m currently using. When I drop the bar on the current rack, if not perfectly on center it moves around enough to be disconcerting. Some stability will be nice in this crazy world. :cold_sweat:

    Well, I've gone over to the barrel aged side, and I'm in paradise here.
    Rubescense Vanilla - BA Sour - Eponymous Brewing - Brookings, SD - 5.7% ABV - Bottle # 137 of 600.

    DAMN!!!!

    look: 4 | smell: 4.75 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 5 | overall: 4.5

    Pours a beautiful red color. about a 1 finger off white head. The head retention isn't the best. No lacing on the glass.
    The nose hits you hard - raspberry, though, since it's a raspberry beer, it makes sense.
    Taste - So full of raspberry. So strong. So full. It's sour up front. It goes vanilla on the middle, then it goes a bit sweet on the back.
    This body is amazing. Carbonation is here. The sourness lingers. Full bodied.
    If you can go to Brookings, SD, or anywhere close, make the trip there. They make great beers, and their BA sours are damn amazing.

    3 weeks from canning date. A big beautiful IIPA

    The true story?

    Mrs Shanex ordered something last week from a web shop and we weren’t home when it was delivered. I had to drive there by 2pm when it opens... their lunch break is noon-2PM (French post is equally the joke that is USPS, a real farce, sad to say.) and I picked it up and drove home.
