What beer are you drinking now? #3068

The beer is certainly tasty. It looks like there are a few other breweries that make a Nanaimo bar inspired beer. This is the first time I've heard of a Nanaimo Bar in my life, when I had the original non barrel aged version. The dessert bar is named after the city Nanaimo, BC. It seems the dessert bar that inspired this beer is popular in Canada, I've never heard of it before in the states where I am, it sounds really good though and something that I would enjoy, so if I ever see a Nanaimo bar at a bakery or dessert place I might have to try it. Not sure if I'll have to make it to Canada to have one or not, either way, definitely seems like a tasty treat. Cheers!

16 oz. can about two weeks old.

Followed pouring directions:

"Shake Well and Pour Hard!"

One (+) inch off-white head over a light to medium brown body with scant lacing. Nose of malt and earthy hops. Flavors of malt, slight caramel, earthy hops and finishing with a light to medium bitterness. Nice feel and overall, a pretty good stab at an ESB from Tunbridge, VT.

Too many glasses in the cupboard, like most of us The classic Belgians are awesome. Unibroue does a good job too I believe. Love that slight more freshnes and bitter taste.

I hope to get to Nanaimo again somewhere in the future. And ask around for Nanaimo Bar(s) and beer. Last time it was just a sit and wait small harbour.

Managed to get my father’s Covid jabs booked. First one Wednesday, second one four months hence. He’s ambivalent about getting it but worries about exclusion from things if he doesn’t. He’s definitely correct about that part.

Beer two is a very nice Pale Ale from a brewery very close to home. Cheers.

 

Up now is a brown ale from Spellbound called Orc, or Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. It's 7.1% and really doesn't taste like an oatmeal raisin cookie. But that's just a knock on their marketing, not their brewing. It is a very tasty brown ale. Lots of dark fruit. I'm keeping my eye out for Spellbound.

 

2 for 2 so far. This one is really good as well. Had one yesterday, thought it was ok, but today I know better. Lots of flavors ranging from tropical kiwi to dark berry and everything in between. Ready for Liverpool at Wolves! And happy birthday @Shanex!

 

Does that mean he will get his second dose after 4 months? If so that is interesting, it seems like they are going with less effectiveness upfront, but maintaining a potential longer lasting "immunity" if another vaccine dose is available 4 months from now. Correct me if I am mistaken. Cheers!

 

Probably gonna be a one and done day for me as I just returned from the VA after receiving my second dose of the vaccine. Mrs. Ozone got her first yesterday and I can already look forward to hosting some poker games again soon.
