    Rare afternoon beer.

Watching this one during the day is a full time job, still working on the house training, so I’ve got to watch her like a hawk.

While I watch Willy’s Wonderland, a horror film about Nicolas Cage fighting possessed ChuckyCheese style animatronics. This was something I didn’t know I needed until it existed.

Good day Advocates. Walked ninety minutes, biked ninety minutes and just finished about two hours of lifting. Also, my Mikkeller, Omnipollo and Lervig order came in, so a good day so far. Starting with something I can just crush. Omnipollo Maz, a 5.6% oat Pale Ale. Cheers. [IMG]

Good afternoon, all! Another day off, but I had an online training to complete and I thought a beer might make things go a little more smoothly. I really wanted an IPA, but by some strange quirk of fate I don't have any on hand at the moment. Guess I'll go with a fridge turd: Schlafly Oktoberfest. Paired with ham on rye-pumpernickel swirl with stone-ground mustard and a chunk of BabyBel Gouda. Prost!

Five hours of exercise makes a first beer incredibly crushable. I crushed that beer like Tampa crushed K.C.

Moving on with Mikkeller Fresh Start for beer two. A 6.4% NEIPA. It’s very nice. Cheers. [IMG]

Softly translucent golden orange body sporting a thick, frothy, sticky white head; rocky and sculpted. Strong aroma of pineapple and other tropical fruits; orange and nectarine; wheat and biscuit. Beautiful fresh tropical fruit taste riding atop a light and toasty malt base; earthy sweetness; noticeable alcohol yet well-tempered with the rest of the flavors. Heavy body; velvety; coats the palate; boozy heat simmering in the background.

The beer presents an incredible appearance, especially with its thick, rich head sitting atop a high ABV body. The smell, taste and body also deliver an overall wonderful experience. Well-crafted, balanced and complex.

I'm closing out Tuesday with a Goose Island Next Coast IPA. Goose Island gets knocked for their parents company, but they still make quality beer. This is a very nice American IPA. For starters, this might just be the most crystal clear beer ever. Follow that up with nice hoppy pine & tropical fruit notes that are balanced by malts and this one is a winner. I rated it 3.91 which is a bit above it's BA average of 3.72.
