Good day Advocates. According to a poll, nearly 50% of Americans want Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to run for President. “Can you smell what democracy is cooking!?”

Starting off with Mikkeller Fresh Start, which Mr. Johnson assures his Presidency will be. Cheers.

 

Drinking a new single hop Idaho 7 IPA from the brewery that I think has become the best NEIPA producer in the Czech Republic as of late- Sibeeria. Very interesting having this single hop Idaho 7 as its similar characteristics to Citra really shine here, and if I wouldn't have known the hop I would have guessed Citra as some of those same citrus + tropical fruit + dank + catty vibes are on display here.

 

I'm only getting a small taste of this one b/c Wifey is using most of it to bake some beer bread. Be'lls Porter is temporarily in my glass. I really can't believe I've never had this one before. Maybe I just never reviewed it, who knows. It is chick full of roasted malts notes. Some dark chocolate and light coffee. Caramel shows up in the taste, but wasn't there on the nose. A very nice beer from an excellent brewery. Cheers!

Kinda reminds me of Grand Funk Railroad.

 

Crushin' It from Cape May Brewing. It's an Orange India Pale Ale. There seems to be more pineapple than orange, but the orange is still there. There's also some unidentifiable flavor. Canned on 3/9/21, so freshness shouldn't be an issue. It also doesn't seem to be an IPA. Oh, well, Cape May generally turns out good stuff. I'll live if they have a rare miss. I rated it 3.48, which is quite a bit below it's BA average of 3.86.

 

Have a good Monday. Back into my weekend after working for 8 straight. Been a good week of music at work. Was back into more tech death the last 2 days.


Mom is staying for a week or so. We had dinner at my table for the first time with both of my parents last night. A bit of a landmark note, but not really. I had the Mongolian beef and General Tso, the beef was harsh on me last night, and I didn't eat the Tso until about 4AM. Finished the last half pint of rice just now. I took a dab and then my cat was there booping my face so this selfie exists.


The food.


So this was solid. Head was lasting forever. Thick soapy lacing. Crystal clarity. Aromas and flavors of cracker grains with some corn fruitiness and herbal, grassy, peppery hops. Light-moderate herbal, woody, grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body; crisp/clean finishing. Light lingering resins with smooth grains in the mouthfeel. Really not all that watery all things considered, I've had worse diet beers. 3.56

A great thing to come home from work to see. They have an opening coming up. Closest thing is Pittsburgh August 31. Who is going, because this is definitely a yes I am going opportunity. Never been huge on Deftones, but they are great overall.

Beer number two is an India Red Ale Lervig. Brewed with six hops and to my nose quite earthy, which is fine. Cheers.

My first TREE HOUSE!! I am so very grateful to my BA @tasterschoice62 for sharing this trophy of great beer. Wowza!! Makes me think of a blend of Yellow Rose and some Turning Point beers I've had. Julius is dope man. And only 6.8% ABV. Thick and creamy, juicy and OMG!! Thanks Larry C.

 

Oskar Blues G'Knight is in my glass. Can says it's an Imperial Red India Pale Ale. Not sure what that is, but apparently it is not to my taste. Just vague hops and malts. I'm not sure what it is supposed to be. I rated it 3.58, way below it's BA average of 4.13.
