What beer are you drinking now? #3111

Last one of these until next batch, really good.

 

A new beer from 608 and Young Blood. I had it last night tailgating at the Brewers game. I wanted to try it again at home.
I really like this one. Smooth, rich. Uses locally sourced honey. The graham crackers and cocoa nibs round out a fabulous beer.

Having another Superhero

 

I liked it better in my Duvel glass but it was only my second one. Great beer.

 

Drinking a DDH Comm Ave DIPA from Trillium now. Lot of peach and nectarine stone fruit notes, slightly floral, very minimal bitterness in here actually. Cheers all!

 

How do you celebrate surviving a Tuesday? When you're trying to clear out space in the cellar, one way to do it is to drink beer that's older than your ten-year-old: 2011 Bigfoot. Still tasty.

 

The big thing for me with Champagne Velvet is freshness. I bought this 12 pack two weeks ago in Bloomington (where it's made) with this date

It's also 5.5% ABV, so it's not a lightly flavored beer. There's malt and a tiny hop presence. Cleanly lagered.

The Grain Belt Premium was older, but also clean. No diacetyl, DMS or other off flavors. But it's 4.6% according to BA and markedly less flavorful.

It's really up to you which is preferable. Both good beers with best before dates marked on cans.

My two cents. I have had high blood pressure for 55 years. Flunked my football physical at age 14 because of it. Maybe it was anxiety but who cares. Fed me drugs. Add the the numbers. Yes I am 69. Been drugged ever since. Sometimes so much so that I could not walk or function.

Not sure where I am going with this.

 

You wouldn't believe the meds I take everyday. High blood pressure, cholesterol, heart rate, blood thinner, aspirin and vitamins. Dr. prescribed. Beer? No problem. 67 going on 39. Here's to getting old!





When I was 17.
