#2, also from my friend @JayORear, I’ve had an opportunity to enjoy a lot of fantastic beers from Tired Hands courtesy of him and @larryi86. I am humbled to have the opportunity to hang out with them in the NBW BIF’s and enjoy the phenomenal beers they send my way.

PS: this qualifies as phenomenal, IMHO. Delicious, juicy stuff. And only triple dry hopped!!!

 

Dodging raindrops while grilling tenderized sandwich chops, at least that's what the butcher labeled them. I call them unbreaded tenderloins. Shiner Sea Salt & Lime. It's straight from the bottle night.

And now hanging outside in the Beer Garden with our neighbors where the temperature and humidity is more oppressive than North Korea.

Which reminds me of the excellent Houston band 2 Dollar Sound. I was at the first house party they played at in 2008 or so. I knew a lot of the band members as oil and gas guys. They were incredible and had this amazing singer, as the oil and gas guys moved on I still see her at various shows in other bands, and is amazing as always. Anyway, the band name came about as everyone put $2 in the tip jar, and that stuck

They made one album before most the band left town to be oil executives (or whatever) elsewhere

Surly's Mango Supreme......Just one more to go. My favorite so far, a little more flavor in this one.

 

Went over to dinner at a great Thai place. A bit more upscale than a lot of other places like this, but its excellent. I'm all for the cheaper neighborhood general Asian spots, but that doesn't mean you can't do equally authentic and great with a higher price point. On that note, they are doing happy hour with great prices on their main dishes.

Anyway, Saint Arnold Art Car IPA. An always solid beer.

With a spicy northern style chicken curry with a mix of crunchy noodle and glass noodles. Excellent.


Edit: Not that anyone cares, but I'm on vacation in a few days to Crystal Beach Texas (its the party beach on Bolivar Peninsula, from the ferry ride from Galveston). Anyway, when my family normally does this, the house we get has incredibly slow or nonexistent internet. Which is perfect for me, but would on occasion like to post the occasional beer and book pick on the beach..not sure if that is going to happen...in case it doesn't, tunes and beer will be posted again in a few weeks
