    It's been a while since I've started this thread, but it's a bit after 4 AM, and I'm wide awake (must be all that bicycle riding, good beer drinking, and great book reading I've been doing...:grin:)...

    ...may have to do another morning bicycle ride after knocking out another chapter of this latest book...this author was born in Colorado Springs and grew up along Shooks Run (near Bijou and El Paso - one of the areas I frequently bicycle through) and not far from Weber Street Liquors - a fine, small beer shop...

    Slow to the draw, had to delete my thread since @beergoot 's thread beat me by two minutes. The early bird gets the worm, in an earlier time zone to boot!

    Just enjoyed a great overnight jazz set, including many songs by the legend celebrating his 95th birthday today.

    Enjoying this beer as well, though somewhat disheartened the sun took this long to barely provide a peak.

    Always great to see renowned artists even if late in their careers. He certainly has enough legacy for two or three lifetimes!!!

    The usual "wise choice" after my run today - 8 miles up and down trails in the G of the Gods again - a solid day apart from all the bloody tourists and dog-walkers... but hey.

    When sleep no longer seems probable or desirable, I like to get up and do something, like read and enjoy a tasty beverage even if the sun hasn't risen yet. Early morning is one of my favorite times of day...

    Fat tire 5.3%. It's being replaced on the shelf at the grocery store with something else so I got it on clearance. I rarely drink this but it's really good.

    Good morning BA! A tip of the hat to beergoot for poppin' the top off today's thread. Cheers!
    Ran 5 miles then drummed a lot last night and hit the hay early but today is MINE.
    As Mick Jagger sez:
    "You will be mine you will be mine all mine."
    This lil' IPA from Chicago ( I love Chicago) is fantabulous. Can 5 of the 6er. Clean, crisp, a sweet and long gentle walk thru the pines at the end...It's a 4.0 big time. I really adore these kinds of IPAs.

    I'm having a New Trail Broken Heels Hazy IPA. It's really good. Pineapple, mango, orange and grapefruit show up in this NEIPA that rates just South of juice bomb. I gave it a 4.03, just below its BA average of 4.10.

    Got the honor of being a judge for the beer/wine/mead tasting at the Benton County Fair. Here's the line up - 6 beers, and 1 wine.

    The porter was the beer winner, with the BA Altbier a close 2nd.

    After, went to my friend's place and popped open this from Beaver Island Brewing:

    Revolution VI - BA stout - 6.5% ABV.

    Really surprised with how complex and full of flavor it was. Damn good.
