This tasty slice of heavenly fun water is on the top of my list for the next big haul. I could get mossed on it and not even know. Made right here in the Brewnited States and about 4.5 hrs drive from my home. It's the last one so I'll savor the flavor. Slainte!!

...a productive day...upgraded my main laptop memory from 8GB to 16GB...target shooting with my bolt action .22LR at 100 and 200 yards (yes, iron targets - it's challenging and fun)...added some pegboard in our new garage rafters to store things while our original attached garage gets renovated into new living space...helped Mrs. BeerGoot rearrange our living room once again (I don't get it, but at least I helped without too much attitude on my part...:stuck_out_tongue:)...

As hoped, popped open the BA version of Thirsty Dog's Siberian Night. Barrel aging defintely enhances an already good base beer as the chocolate in the malt base was much more pronounced. The bourbon barrel was kind lending a touch of leather and vanilla. Definitely will be on the watch next year for this!

Photo Finish from D96. This a nice representation of NEIPA. Not my favorite, but well-executed. Cheers!

Going with Founders Nemesis to pair with grilling on my Traeger tonight. Always enjoy a English style Barleywine when the rare occasion arises!

My PC's screensaver is a random slideshow of thousands of pictures!

    Today's review:

    Brewed Feb 2021.
    Bottled May 2021.

Gentle to moderate pour yields a nearly two inch white head over a slightly hazy, straw colored body with sticky lacing.

Nose of slight pine, herbs, forest floor(?) with wonderful aromas of citrus wafting in and out.

Taste of citrus at first (grapefruit mostly with a bit of orange), oak, a tad spice, and then moving towards the pine; finally finishing dry with pine, oak, and citrus pith in the best way.

Feel is similar to that of champagne, but with a wild ale's body, if that makes any sense.

Overall, yet another superb offering from the Wizard of Albany, VT!

    Cheers to Vasili!!

It was our pleasure, and I’d make another trek to Sheboygan (or Milwaukee), would likely get a hotel room myself to avoid pacing to drive back same day.

Nice walk to a local brewery today, they have a new beer to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Chicago Fire.

    Alarmist Angel of Fire

    Brewery notes:
Roasted lager, 5.2% ABV, $7 16 oz draft. Collaboration Lager with The Chicago History Museum/Chicago Brewseum to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Chicago Fire and celebrate Anna & Joseph Hudlin. Roasted toffee aromatics, notes of bakers chocolate with a slight waft of molasses & stone fruit wrapped up neatly in roasted malts with a clean, dry finish.

Appearance: Pitch black vase, creamy tan head, fine bubble rim lingers around the rim, and light cover over the base. 4.25

    Aroma:
Sweet toffee leads, nice roast malt follows, light bakers chocolate. Brewery notes on point, taken aback by the sweetness at first whiff, less do after a few more and throughout the pour. 3.75

    Taste:
Consistent with aroma. Very sweet toffee leads again, caramel roast malt follows. Hops try to check sweetness you little avail. Flavor very strong, too sweet for my general preference, but not dinging the score as this is as advertised. As I get further, I’m steered toward a Coca Cola / A & W Root Beer blend. 3.5

    Mouthfeel:
Fizzy persistent soda like carbonation holds firm throughout. Medium soda like body. Dry, leans heavily sweet, caramel toffee aftertaste. 3.25

    Overall:
This is a sweet desert / soda type offering, OK, just not typical for my wheelhouse. Brewed as described, and not too sweet for the style. Would drink again in the right mood. 3.5

No cask here today, and menu light, perhaps one more to follow up. Not sure if this is due to their lead brewer moving to Pittsburgh a few weeks ago.

Two more themed 1990 songs to pair with this beer.
