Starting off with a Unrefined Shugga. Damn good brew imo would definitely recommend it. Cheers!

IPA, an IPA from Ecuadorian brewery Santa Rosa.

Pretty decent old school IPA from Ecuador, not something you find every day. Quite bitter and resinous, with some citrus and floral accents.

[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup: (Correctly matched 2 of the 3 pairs blind)

    1) Bauhaus Wonderstuff (5.4%):
A Czech-style pilsner from Minnesota that bready and salty flavors with a twist of American Citrus.
    versus
    2) Summit Dakota Soul (4.8%): This Czech Pilsner from Minnesota is brewed with North Dakota barley and has flavors of bitter flower, bread spice, and yeast.
    (Mismatched these two blind)

    3) Schell’s Firebrick Lager (5.0%): A vienna lager from Minnesota that has flavors of caramel, raisin, and red fruit. Some English flavors as well
    versus
    4) Samuel Adams Boston Lager (5.0%): A vienna lager from Massachussettes that has flavors of cinnamon, toffee, and caramel.

    6) Odell Hazer Tag (7.0%): A hazy IPA from Colorado with flavors of orange pineapple, tropical passionfruit, grapefruit.
    versus
    6) Sierra Nevada’s Hazy Little Thing (6.7%): A hazy IPA from California that has orange, lemon, citrus, and pineapple flavors.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    1) Bahaus Wonderstuff: One of the more flavorful pilsners I've had. It has a fantastic bread profile with nice citrus. It's hard to beat Dakota Soul and on another night I these two might be reversed.

    4) Sam Adams Boston Lager: This one has a unique Sam Adams toasted bread, red fruit, and cinnamon roll flavor. Firebrick had good Vienna malts, but a bit too restrained. A classic.

    5) Sierra Nevada's Hazy Little Thing: This one drinks more balanced and flavorful. Nothing spectacular here, but Hazer Tag was too vague and mild.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you tried Bahaus Wonderstuff and what did you think for a pilsner?
Do you have a favorite Vienna Lager other than Sam Adams Boston Lager?
Have you tried Odell Hazer Tag IPA, and did you find it too bland and vague?

Well, I said I would make a change from the sweeter selections I have been trying. So grabbed a few proven (by me of course) IPAs today.

Starting the eve with Odell- Myrcenary - a Double IPA. I suppose I need to see who is playing tonight, nothing like football over the air for picture quality.

Alma Mader Brewing Co. -- Premiant
    Czech-style pilsner

Bright and clear, golden yellow body; dense, lively carbonation; thick, frothy head, white and semi-creamy in texture; rings of foam step line the glass. Excellent cereal grain smell; fresh and earthy; subliminal esters; pear. Outstanding toasted malt flavor; light, earthy sweetness; light to moderate hop bitterness; mineral tones. Medium body; soft and pleasing on the palate; semi-dry mouthfeel.

This is a beautiful, full-flavored pilsner. Whatever malt base utilized is phenomenal. The beer itself oozes depth and complexity.

A 12/30/2020 bottle found in the back of the beer fridge. Still satisfying with big herbal honey and a bitter finish. Looking forward to a fresh batch soon!

Good Thursday evening, folks. I'm having Dragon III from Free Will, a triple IPA. Resinous, herbal, bitter, tropical/citrus, not heavy, hits the spot for sure. Cheers!
