This conjured dreams of Christmas past, with Frango Mints (F Macy's) of yesteryear my nearest comparison. Simply superb, so grateful of the Winter Warmer tasting which steered me toward revisiting this great beer. Full review in New Beer Sunday 878.

Back with two more selections from 1979, a year we experienced a 20.3 inch snow fall, the fourth highest in Chicago recorded history, or what they call in Western New York a light dusting.

Well, today's New Breakfast Beer is from @Roy_Hobbs and NBS BIF #14:



This was mystery beer #2, appropriately wrapped and hidden. So well hidden, in fact, I just found it lurking in beer reefer #3. Quite nice - one of those brews I'd buy and keep on hand if it were available in my neck of the woods - Rating 4.25, rDev +5.8%.

Good morning BAs! Thanks to @mschrei for using his church key to let us in to celebrate with today’s Beer congregation…starting with a Tavour purchase - Deschutes’ “Home At Port” a Belgian style dark ale aged in bourbon and port barrels:



Bottled 1/16/20. Poured at 57°. I bought this beer because I like barrel aged beers, and have a sweet spot for Sherry and Port barrel aged beers…this offering was worth the price of admission…fantastic layers of flavors - sweet toffee & caramel, port, bourbon, oak, leather, tobacco, cherry, red wine. Dry barrel finish. Black pepper as ale warmed. Very nice!

No snow here in WV notwithstanding below freezing temps at night, and that’s ok with me. Hope y’all have a super Sunday and Cheers!!
