Happy Monday beer peeps!

My last one to work of this, my last week of work before retirement.....whooohooo! 4 days to go!



my office is looking pretty sparse - hard to imagine I have been there almost 11 years

 

Decided to finish the last two Celebration Ales. Don't be too impressed by the head formation, it's mostly frozen

This is the 1st beer I've had that's won a medal at the GABF, 3rd place, and they're a local. Congratulations CLB!

 

Dark Star. Imperial Oatmeal Stout from Fremont Brewing (Seattle - Earth).

Good afternoon BA's, good to be back at the bar! Sunny windy day here in Western NC with the temps at 40 or so. My poker game tonight is cancelled due to Covid concerns. Given how cold i am feeling, relatively speaking, i thought it would be a good day to break out one of the BCBS variants to warm me bones a bit!
BCBS Cherry Wood has the classic BCBS characteristics. The additional aging in Cherry Wood has for my pallet given it a very strong cherry after BCBS taste. It is very good, but IMHO could stand to rest at least a year so that the cherry can better blend in and not come across as the primary flavor.



Da Boss has her Amazon tunes rolling and am listening to a band called Jet that flashed in the US in 2003. I see they had one follow up LP in the States that did not do well. Too bad, loved the energy and beat!

Two Turtle Doves... 2021 version... trying to finish up the holiday beers while the holidays are still near... sorta... sorry, had trouble trying to load the pic, had to give up and get back to drinking it... it's a big bottle at 10.6 % and I'm all alone here...

 

Black Maple, a bourbon barrel aged porter by Jackie O’s. Very light carbonation and virtually no head or lacing, as one might expect from a barrel aged beer. Bourbon and maple dominate the aroma and taste. The 9.4% ABV is well masked. The char backbone of their stouts is missing and gives this one a porter lightness if that can be said of such a big beer. Really delightful beer.
