I'm with you. A former neighbor (who moved to South Carolina) came back to visit over New Year's and brought along a fresh mix six of Sweetwater beers. I haven't had a dud yet. I also wonder at the low ratings overall, but that's the way it goes. Perhaps the lost art of relative simplicity go unappreciated (yet Russian River or Maine Beer Co. beers of the same nature - and quality - get all the glory).

I'm really excited to start this book of poetry at this bar in Houston. One of the older dives bars around, and one of my favorites. Under The Volcano.

Starting The Collected Poetry of Malcolm Lowry (if you haven't read Under The Volcano, do it now, if you are in Houston and have never been, go now), with a Saint Arnold Winter IPA.

Then went over to the great restaurant from Southern Yankee's Brewery.

Who's Paul Pale Ale, and spicy chicken sandwich.

Other than injection site bit of pain, wife and I had no reactions to both shots and the booster shot. Probably because we are like 100 years old!

Glad to see business is finally starting to pick up at the VB tonight! Was nervous that it might be closed for rennovations since the page number was so low earlier on!!

Stoked to try this new one from a local favorite brewery.

Damn you? Damn Ye?? ... oh whatever.

You sent me awesome IPAs. I put them in the same class as Maine Beer Company IPAs. All awesome. Picked up five Maine yesterday.

I am a fan of Sweetwater. For several years wife and I would drive to Florida to help my sister with her husband who was suffering from Alzheimer’s. We always stopped for the night in Beaufort and I had my share of Sweetwater IPAs on draft.

Moving on with a MC2, canned 10/22/2021, kind of a snow globe but I did swirl the bottom half of the can. Taste is all there and very enjoyable. I'm a pretty happy camper tonight, confirmed our trip to NH the last weekend of February. Should be the Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department fishing derby on New Found lake if the ice comes in. We'll have about 4-5 cousins/nephews on the lake in various "bob-houses" we'll ski between and share beers with. Oh, and I did call the craft beer store in Woodstock VT (1 hour away), Alchemist drops there every Wednesday, they'll hold a case of Heady for me. Beer folks on both sides of the bar/counter/distro truck/virtual bar are great people!

The pork carnitas was awesome. Wife was happy with the seafood dish. Tilapia, scallops, and shrimp.

Namaste my friends. Yours truly has transitioned to wine.

Coldest temps we’ve had all year so I opened this one courtesy of @BBThunderbolt. Warming beer with big coffee notes riding on rich malty goodness.

I have always thought of their IPA's at least, in the Voodoo Ranger category (sorry Scream but its true), OK/decent, but not exceptional for me. I can get Sweetwater pretty easily around here, but they never seem to make it into my cart when shopping. Thats just me though, there are plenty of beers I share here that I don't think a lot of people would say are exceptional, but I would disagree and thats OK

Alrighty then. Time for some even lighter fare here: Omission Ultimate Light Golden Ale. Pretty good for being a gluten reduced low carb brew. 3 carbs, 99cal. Looks real nice, has a slightly metallic & grassy smell. Taste improves with some malts and gentle hops. Feels crisp, clean, slippery and very light with some bitterness lingering. I've had much worse! Salute!! Advocates!
