    Hey-o!
Back from the 18 miler, with ugh, 2000 feet vertical. Legs are ded. DED. At least had a good meal and some liquids in me....

Still, beautiful out there today and got to try a new hydration vest. Downside is I forgot to fill it with Tend.

    Cheers!

Out in the courtyard for lunch. Live Oak Hefe, and a Gyro sandwich from Al's Quick Stop around the corner. Great Mediterranean take out spot.

Glad it warmed up just enough to be outside for a bit.

Fat Heads Alpha Ambush IPA. Well balanced, but still hop forward. Lots of pink grapefruit and pineapple, some mango skin, lemongrass, floral, and plenty of pine resin. Not the best IPA they make, but is far better than a majority of other west coasts out there, at least in my area.

Well, it is officially snowing it Atlanta. Doesn’t feel right. Making more of a slush than anything out there. How’re you up north @ATL6245 ?

Just made a late lunch/brunch again. Leftover roast from the other night, plus some homemade potatoes and some fresh pico.

This seemed like a proper beer for this rare occurrence!

    Cheers from not so Hotlanta.

How's it drinking? It's been a long time since I've had anything from Saucony Creek.
    They still brew Maple Mistress?

...I really love the nuanced elements of this beer...

...and another LP that was waiting for me when I got home yesterday...one of my favorite tenor players...

Today's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup has a couple aged from 2019:

    1) New Glarus Totally Naked (4.3%):
An American lager from Wisconsin brewed with German/Czech hops giving it authentic American flavors with hints of a German twist.
    versus
    2) Stella Artois Lager (5.0%): A European pale lager that has flavors of light bread malts, yeast, with some hints of smooth lemonflower.

    3) Sierra Nevada’s Powder Day IPA (7.7%): A new DDH IPA from California that has flavors of orange tangerine, and honeydew melon. An earthy, dank herbal/grassy finish.
    versus
    4) Sierra Nevada’s Hazy Little Thing (6.7%): A hazy IPA from California that has orange, lemon, citrus, and pineapple flavors. Classic SN pine soap flavor off the end.

    5) North Coast Brewing Old Rasputin from 2019 (9.0%): A classic Russian Imperial Stout flavors of bittersweet chocolate, earthy and toasted black malt and coffee roast.
    versus
    6) Sierra Nevada's Narwhal 2019 (10.2%): A Russian Imperial Stout from California that has strong flavors of rich chocolate, espresso beans, and some vanilla notes. Slightly bitter finish.
(Mismatched these two blind. Correctly labeled 2 of the 3 pairs blind)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    1) New Glarus Totally Naked:
This one has a smooth American malt with only hints of German flavors. Sort of reminds me of an American version of a German Helles. Fantastic.

    4) Sierra Nevada's Powder Day IPA
: Two very different beers, but this is a better winter IPA with nice DDH flavors, while being smooth and drinkable. A much better release than their Wanderland from this time last year.

    6) Sierra Nevada's Narwhal: Hard to admit that I enjoyed this one more today, because I didn't think it could be better than Old Rasputin. Also embarrassingly mismatched these in the blind test. Looks like Sierra Nevada can do much more than an IPA.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you tried Sierra Nevada's Powder Day IPA yet and what did you think?
Do you prefer Sierra Nevada's Narwhal or North Coast Old Rasputin as a RIS?

    Hey BA's

Did a nice brisk 2 mile hike after lunch with Emma, followed by battening the hatches on a few outdoor things in prep for the snow - which has just started falling here.....got food, beer and all is well - bring that shit on!
