    Happy sunny Saturday BA's - up to a whopping 17 degrees now - was 6 F when I got up....brrrr

    Simmering some vegan black bean chili and popped the top on this 2 year old gift from my lovely daughter - Wolfs Ridge makes some great beers!

    Moving on this gloomy cool morning - Westbrook’s 11th Anniversary Chocolate & Caramel Stout:

    Per brewery, bottled Winter 2021. Poured at 54°. A Tavour buy, in yesterday’s box. Odd strong sweet fruity/spicy nose and taste; I’m getting more black licorice and sweet fruit with cardamom than chocolate/caramel…I’ll just say it - is there something “off” with this beer?…another beer that suffered in the Tavour pipeline?…not what I expect as an admitted fanboy of Westbrook. :flushed::slight_frown: Sooo disappointing as I was really looking forward to this beer…

    I am not aware of any band collaborations that Drekker Brewing has done. Hopefully they do one soon!

    Good afternoon, advocates. This is a special occasion for me. Carling Black Label was my pop pop's favorite beer. He liked to enjoy it w/ a shot of whiskey, and a small plate of sharp cheese. He joined the army as a sniper scout at the age of 18. Some of his decorations include the bronze star, and a purple heart. After his discharge, he became a self-made businessman who prospered in real estate. I'm not going to bore you w/ anymore details because people don't read these posts in the first place. Haha! It's easier to hit the like button. Anyhow, I never stole sips of his beer as a kid, so all these years later, this is very special to me. My pop pop had a pretty unique first name, as far as I'm concerned. This is for you, Carthell! Cheers, from your favorite grandson, H. I love you...

    And here's a song they used to play on the jukebox at the VFW. I used to go there w/ him when I was like 7 or 8 and play shuffleboard. Peace...
