What a small world. I haven't thought of Griswold Lake in years, we had a tiny undeveloped lot there with the Russian RIMAS Lodge until they sold out. Would really enjoy our trips there, which seemed to take at least an hour drive from the city, for Summer swimming.

As if your post was not sufficiently serendipitous, before coming across your post I selected this Russian Imperial Stout, brewed not too far from Griswold Lake (in Lake Barrington), as my Cellaruary selection for the day.

Full review in the Cellaruary Thread. Long story short, this was unintentionally cellared, likely better fresh, but enjoyable nonetheless.

New Beer. Shiner Beer. "Texhex" IPA. Surprised the hell outta me. Damn tasty. Has a little bitterness that is right on for an IPA. I'm liking so far.

Good afternoon BA's. Lovely mid 50's day here in Western NC! Just returned from Mills River a little while ago after picking up Barrel Aged Peanut Butter Narwhal for my tasting group in the 'hood. Did a sample of four Bigfoot vintages while there...all were very good but i think my favorite vintages have 2-3 years on it.


Since i am in the SNBC kind of mood i thought i would crack a Celebration. It is so nice to be able to pick up a 12-pack at the local grocer for $14 - it is so nice to be so close!

Been a proxy for someone at Modern Times, so I'm coming here more than i ever have.
It's hot as fuck today so settled for some refreshing stuff,good choice since All their stouts on tap were liquid diabetes.
Got : Tie Dye Friday ( West Coast TIPA) it's actually damned good. I was expecting the typical way too sweet style but this has a nice balance between bitter,sweet,malty and hoppy.
Dinosaur World ( Hazy Double IPA) Not as good as i want. Maybe my palate got blown out by the Tie Dye cuz i can't taste shit.


Some old school frisco shit. Reminds me of my cowboy days in The Bay when picking up half oz of Dog the Bounty Hunter kryptonite and 80mg bottles of oxy from Bikers in Hayward was normal. Can't recall how many times we almost died on the Bay Bridge and 580
