I have actually never had Backwoods Bastard. I do recall seeing it locally but I was early in my beer journey and did not try it. I'll have to check to see if it is at the local on my beer run tomorrow.

EDIT: Seems like a short 40 mile roundtrip to get it. Not tomorrow, but next time I am in Boulder, will have to grab some. Pricey stuff! $15 4pk

Hot tub time

 

Nelson is my favorite hop. Love the grape juice/white wine flavor.

 

There are times when I like it a lot, others where it seems out of whack, because the malt bill or some other hop thrown in

 

I can see that. Hop combos are a tricky thing. I’ve liked some Nelson IPAs more than others but yet to find one that I outright hated.

 

The irony is that I much prefer red wine to white wine. Go figure.
