A beautiful New England afternoon deserves a beautiful NE IPA.

Nothing as appetizing as @BrewsOverHoes solid English breakfast but I’ll call it dinner here; chicken and a Cherry Chouffe. Sharing both the chicken and Chouffe with missus. Not sharing missus FYI.

Wow, BBC is on fire. Often right on par with Modestman.

I try to chose the Modest (yah know.. NH native and all) when the right stuff's available, but BBC had the freshie selection win yesterday - and I have no regrets. Damn tasty!

Fine consolation to calm my nerves about time constraints - had to abort today's hike due to dangerously high winds. Clock is ticking...

From 2 hikes ago.. Carter Notch Hut. One of only 3 out of the 8 that is open during winter.

Just for a data point, not a criticism since you're clearly participating in this wonderful forum...

This is all I ever see of your posts.

EDIT: And I know the cause but I'm unwilling to change my browser setting to accommodate haha, my loss perhaps!

Looks amazing! That's my kind of scenery (I know; I'm damaged  ).

Re: pics, I don't actually know what is causing my browser to not show his pics. I know he's the only one for whom that consistently happens, so I'm definitely not concerned with changing my settings. It would be another matter if this happened with many posters.

...I wasn't planning on more coffee this morning, but when you find a relatively fresh batch of this beer, you gotta do what you gotta do...

After a week + hiatus from cellar / heavy beers, I returned today with my oldest bottle.

    2015 Firestone Walker Velvet Merkin

Full treatment in the cellar review thread. Long story short, 0-3 years is likely the sweet spot, enjoyable but not as good as it is fresh, stronger in terms of alcohol punch than expected (8.5% ABV).

One of the few examples of a cover exceeding the OG version. Like the hard gritty music from this version, but the vocals and vibe from this take (different lyrics). YMMV

Post lunch beer - Not a TBBW beer, but local - Angry Chair’s “Imperial German Chocolate Cup Cake” Stout (2021 Batch - 2):

Released and purchased at the brewery 9/3/21. Poured at 53°. Chocolate and coconut. Lactose and vanilla. Smooth viscous feel. Pastry stout par excellence. Cheers gang!

No need for explanations, although having just read Jean Echenoz’s Special Envoy, I quite understand. FWIW, I have the same tendencies! Cheers!
