I think it's good for about 3-4 months before it goes downhill. So I consider that relatively fresh.

    Cheers!

    I think i hate 90% of barleywines .
Brew5000= too sweet. SmogCity BOE = Too sweet
Straightjacket =too sweet .Brew 3000 = almost sickeningly sweet. This one = too sweet.
I do love me some Old Guardian and Treehouse Barleywines though. And Fox Farm Mantel was good

    Good evening BA
I was going to skip a beer tonight, but a small pour of this leftover tripel was too tempting

Possibly better than when I first opened it now that the crazy carbonation has bled off a bit. Cheers all!

There's nothing quite like American Idol to make you appreciate heavy metal, is there?

Hello BAs. Haven't been on these threads in a while. I ended up having to miss Tripel weekend because it got moved to a time when I was in Virginia for work and wasn't going to want to drink any Belgian beers, but I did buy a few for the old weekend...

New Trail's Belgian Style Tripel. Mostly true to the style, but with some extra hop bitterness in the finish to remind you who made it. Probably going to land in the high 3s when I rate it here, it's a good one and a nice change of pace from their parade of hazies -- this must be the clearest beer they make!

Salmon on the menu tonight. Yours truly though has transitioned to wine.

Put away the groceries and this was in the bag.

I called it a night fairly early yesterday, so here's another addition to the tripel tasting. I've never had La Trappe tripel before, so I was looking forward to trying it.

Comes in a slightly hazy burnt golden orange color, with a smallish (at first) white head that lingers forever; great retention.

Smells more sweet, ripe banana, clove, toasted bread, fusel alcohol, tons of esters, and hay.

The taste follows the nose. Ripe banana, candied orange, warm alcohol, hay, toasted bread, and clove. Leans pretty sweet and boozy but manages to finishes out fairly clean.

This is a pretty solid Tripel. I like Westmalle more but this is one is still pretty great.

Honestly I gave it a fair review on NBW but then I decided it was a bit better after having a few. I still prefer Finest Kind over it though.

Yes. Wife and I are 70 so we know the answer. Plus you have to have sex, right? Obviously just a mistake by the market.

That said I posted I am going to be a grandpa again in late Aug.

Congrats on being a grandpa again. I’m 60 with a 13 year old, so I don’t know if I’m going to see being a grandpa or not.

I've been watching ZZ Top Live at Montreux in surround sound all night - just a great concert. If you're a ZZ Top fan, this is a must have DVD (Blu-Ray). The audio is superb and Billy Gibbons shows why he's such a great player.

I was pretty happy with dinner. And believe me when it comes to food that I create it takes alot to make me happy. Im somewhat of a perfectionist.
The sous vide flank Asian Style was killer as was the mixed salad of baby arugula, butter lettuce, fresh green beans, diced avocado, julienned red onion, grape tomato and a simple dressing of EVOO and fresh lime juice.

Got into work & found out we had leaky steam pipes, water all over the floor, but no real damage.Work wasn't bad, but it is time to soak some unhappy feet in warm water & Epsom Salt.
