What beer are you drinking now? #3454

Seemed like there might be space at the virtual bar. Following a random chain of songs starting with a YouTube channel post, decided to crack a beer:


Not nearly as good as the Citra version, but not everything can live up to a beer I rated 4.5. Tasty, if I ignore expectations from the previous version's hop.






Anyone else unable to avoid the porkless pork rind commercial on YouTube?

 

Hoppin’ Frog Gavel Slammer. That’s about it. A brute of an ale. Has a port vibe in the back. Not my favorite from them.

One of my favorite restaurants in Houston, Da Gama. Mostly Indian with some general European influences.

With a True Anomaly IPA..yeah this is a big bitter IPA...


That pairs perfectly with this amazing pork vindaloo curry. The bitterness really didn't hold up to the spices, but it was a good try



AND, I didn't even think of this before hand but, Jhumpa Lahiri writes beautify about the differences between Indian and Western cultures. So its kind of the perfect spot to read this

Oh, and one last picture, I became a sucker and got a pour of this amazing Scotch...anybody that does not know about Edradour needs to check them out now.

 

Why I love it!

 

Offshore ale nut brown. Delicious! Caramel, brown sugar/bread/crust, toast, nuts, wood, herbal, pepper; light cocoa, coffee, dark fruit, yeast earthiness. Lt med herbal/roast bitter finish. Creamy/bready lt med body. Light sticky/chalky drying. No acrid/astringent. Spot on English style. 3.88


More amazing sushi. Tempura shrimp and Philadelphia.

Still working my stockpile of this stuff

 

Dovetail Sugar Creek Pils. Made with edelweiss grain that comes from a local malt house collected from farms in mostly Indiana. Edelweiss hasn't been grown in the U.S. since WWII. The body and feel are insane for a 4% beer. Extremely soft and delicate with a hefty body. Fresh-cut grass, some lime, earthy floral, Hawaiian bread. This is way up there for Pilsners I've tried. @77apm Thanks again man.

Haha! Actually it was 56° here so not what you people down south think of as warm....actually probably think thats like winter down there.
I never where pojamas- either commando or boxers. And Im a big shorts guy. I wear athletic shorts all the time when Im not working. The jewels need to cool after many hours in a hot kitchen

Offshore is definitely an underrated brewery. When I'm lucky enough to find it, it's always solid. Have fun you guys!

You were complaining about that same beer last night. Why did you open another one and are you into masochism? (Drain pour it or give it away to a friend. )

 

I am watching Pens/Avalanche finishing off the last two Anchor wcipas from a six-pack I purchased a few weeks ago. It will be a repeat purchase. I like it.
