Doing a mini brew pub crawl today. Starting at Animated Brewing in Coatesville, PA. First up is “Get the Kinks Out “ Vanilla/Chocolate Porter. Solid offering. A little thin on the body and mouthfeel but decent.

 

Random Encounter hazy IPA 7.5% - Odd Muse
Time for a tasty IPA. This 1 features Citra, Mosaic and Idaho 7. Can't go wrong with it 1 of my local go-to's. Cheers!

Second from Animated, “The Burning “ DIPA. Animated is a rather small local brewery with some solid offerings. Well worth a visit!

 

Founders Breakfast Stout 8.3% ABV. As good as ever, but never had it on nitro before.

 

NBW cross-post. This beer is a tremendous value from Minnesota. Last weekend I was in Minneapolis for the Mayhem concert. I met up with @MattyG85. He won't be making any appearances on this website for the foreseeable future. He is a great guy. I wish him the best. The Mayhem show was amazing! I was not planning on moshing, since the founder of the band, who was brutally murdered by another member of the band, hated moshing. But once the pit got going, I could not help myself. After the show, there was an electrinic dance music/rave at the same venue. I walked right in. The headliner played dubstep. People mosh to dubstep. And those mosh pits are brutal! I jumped right in! I am still bruised from head to toe, and my knee is messed up, but it was so worth it! Here is the artist, and an explanation of dubstep!

 

Headed to Neptunes Kitchen and Dive Bar in Rodanthe, NC. Not sure what they have on tap but I will post a pic or two.

To my good friend @DoctorZombies , please note we are walking there not driving. It is just a block away.

 

New Belgium Surly Dark Forest Barleywine.
I wish I knew this was a soured Barleywine b4 I bought a 16oz Crowler of it.
Thank God I only have to choke down a pounder! This beer sux. At $8, it's getting chugged, not drain poured.
I bought to celebrate my 50th.
Not so much with this one!
I hate it when they pull fast ones like this!
I do not dislike all sour beers, just the American ones, except Monks & Goose Island Raspberry whatever it was called besides $30/bottle.
The only way this could be worse is if they aged it in a booze barrel.

The sun has peaked out so I'm pouring an Urquell

 

I had a craving for a fresh Saison. Stopped in NoFo Brew Co to scratch that itch with their Apes Vous 7.7% ABV. Catching some Masters action. I notice they have a Barleywine on tap. Thinking about checking that out too.

 

That would have been the first thing I tried if it was on tap. Great choice!

 

Somehow, my LBS is getting this in fresh out here in Idaho. No matter how it's happening, as Charlie Berens would say, "Keep 'er Movin'

Pride Mentality DIPA 8.2% - Odd Muse
This stuff is excellent another home run for Odd Muse. I don't typically favor Sabro hops but this works out very nicely. Very tropical/juicy, silky smooth with some hop bite, well done Odd Muse. Cheers!
