This is a nice dry-hopped lager by Von Trapp + Thin Man Brewing... perhaps a little darker than most normal Helles bockbiers (I think in this pic, the light is hitting it weird... I would say it's about 9-10 SRM), and the head looks unsatisfying/unappealing once it settles out a bit, but... sure.

Nose is sweet bread with hints of herbal hops and a light bit of florals. Not as spicy as I wanted based on their description, but there is a slight sense of piquancy.

Satisfying feel and flavor with lots of nice breadiness tempered by slightly-bitter hops and hints of floral elements popping up at times. Grassiness toward the finish. Vibrant for the most part with a decent stylistic approach. I'm not sure why this required a collaboration, cuz it's pretty much similar to Von Trapp's normal Helles (perhaps slightly more "intense"?), but I digress. Solid stuff.

Ghost Note Brewing (Dripping Springs, TX) 1st Anniversary Whiskey Barrel Aged Porter. Picked up a bottle of this beer at this relatively new Texas Hill Country brewery.

Beer is a nice robust porter and the brewery is a pleasant venue with good beer and nice people.
