I heard heat on a Teddy Father’s Day post but haven’t been on the threads since last Wednesday,,, I hope you’ve picked up the slack.
This week is grad weekend/ jazz week so busy busy busy as Santa in the cul de sac might say!

 

Out of bounds stout, a legacy release from avery, and it's pretty good. Bitter roasty notes followed by a chocolatey malty sweetness with a big ass head. Not too hoppy but they're detectable just the way I like my American stouts.

 

Normal Monday work day. Did deadlifts and ordered Dominos and it was amazing. Picked it up on the way home. Thin Crust Hawaiian and Extravaganzza(supreme). Also bacon jalapeno cheese bread. The Hawaiian was one of the best I've had with the smoked bacon, not too sweet on the pineapple. And the tomato sauce was super robust and not too sweet. I was thinking about getting marinara, but I figured I'd go with the classic sauce. I feel like that getting older I just get taste for more vegetables on my pizza. Also hit up the deep fried ones often enough lol.

Found a bunch of more trails to ride like a huge gravel route 68 mile loop to the west of here called two gorges. Me and Julia will definitely ride it. I need to get back in bike shape again lol. Julia will get the hang of it, but I won't make her take single track. Probably a bad idea. Will probably craiglist her a mountain bike or something. Mine needs work.



Another NBS BIF from @FBarber . Riverlands Clear Waters. Canned 3/24/22. Fantastic west coast IPA. Great fluffy head retention, foamy lacing, and moderate streaming carbonation on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, pear, passionfruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, pepper, pine, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; balanced bready malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Fairly crisp finishing with the long resinous lingering drying finish, with minimal hop astringency. Minimal warming 8%. Amazing spot on showcase of Citra and Mosaic hops. Very vibrant, dank, and earthy hops, with a clean malt backbone. Aggressive but easy drinking, spot on west coast style. 4.25

I'm destitute right now, so I fell back on some Hamm's. A sixer of pints cost me $4.49, which is nice, but it was $3.99 last year! Definitely not the best you can get, but I respect Hamm's for actually vaguely tasting like beer, unlike the other beers sold at the same price point. Rolling Rock tastes like a beer drunk person's spit, so it's definitely preferable to that. Hamm's has a fairly prominent grain profile, it's a little surprising. Reminds me of the seedy places my friends and I went to when we all turned 21 and wanted to drink and play pool. Hamm's was always the cheapest you could get.

 

I'm back from vinoville. And enjoying another Finkel & Garf - Strata APA- The thing I didn't take notice of at first is the low 4.4 % abv. This under 5% beer tastes really good. Edit: I now know the light but good hop note, it is apricot.

My fave lower ABV Kona Light pales in comparison to flavor punch, yet the Kona is a bit more bodied.
