    Yellow Rose time.

Tone Poem spinning by the great Charles Lloyd. Some pretty good covers of Ornette Coleman and Monk, and some originals thrown in. I just read he has three new trio albums coming out this year. His so called Trio of Trios ha. At 84 he is not slowing down, love it.

Good day for some Hamm's. It's 97 here now. My tomatoes told me they were thirsty as I walked by just now. I'll be busy for a while. Then beer time. Cheers....

It's 67° here, some weird weather pattern is keeping things abnormally cool. That's my first Hamm's in many years and the first purchased locally

There's going to be a series of these postings. I'm swimming in treehouse cans of all styles. And why drink the other everyday stuff that's in my fridge?

I have an award winning picture that I took at MacArthur Park in 2013 that should win awards. Maybe one day I’ll share it.

Howdy BA's. Bought this one because of the name and because Cascade is the main hope. Very solid for sure.

[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Utepils Pils (5.0%):
A Czech-style Pils from Minneosta with flavors of pale and bread malts. Some smooth honey, toasted and husky Munich malts and a smooth, bready finish.
    versus
    2) Summit Dakota Soul (4.8%): This Czech-style Pils from Minnesota is brewed with North Dakota barley and has flavors of bitter flower, bread spice, and yeast.
    (mismatched these two blind)

    3) Half Acre Beer Hates Astronauts (7.8% canned 5/18/22): An IPA from Illinois with Citra hops and Vienna malts for flavors of tropical pineapple and mango. Smooth, resinous malts.
    versus
    4) Surly’s Axe Man IPA (7.2% canned 5/18/22): This DDH IPA from Minnesota has Citra and Mosaic hops for flavors of citrus and dank tropical flavors with a Golden Promise malt.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    2) Dakota Soul:
One of my go-to Czech-style pilsners. Bready, salted and buttery with a bitter, yeasty finish. Utepils was great too. Both worth picking up if near Minneapolis.

    4) Surly's Axe Man IPA: Coincidently canned on the same date triggering the comparison. This one showcases the Mosaic hop in it's purist form. The dank, earthy, berry notes with a bitter and an oily piney finish. Hoppy, fruity, yet bitter. A complete IPA. Beer Hates Astronauts has epic can art which is not entirely shown in the photo.

I guess we’re at the point where one randomly comes across a 2 month old Focal Banger at an average at best liquor store. At two months, just like Heady, I think it has dropped off a lot. Nice experiment, but I’m not enjoying it:

Well, here it is: The Greenest Green from Tree House. Yeah, all I can do is just sing. Any impending bad weather just got sucked up in a vacuum the second I started humming the intro to this song. I love. Peace...

On to Ft Lauderdale, this is an easy drinking blonde ale from Wynwood Brewing with a great flavor profile for a summer beer.

Hop Butcher Giardiniera DIPA (Citra, El Dorado, Mosaic). Been a minute since I've had any HB. Used to drink these guys weekly, but that's fallen by the wayside for a few different reasons. A buddy of mine gifted me with this though, so I'm going to enjoy it. Clementine, pineapple sorbet, ripe mango, orange peel, white pear, some cannabis, white peach, slight berry, grapefruit pith, vanilla wafer. That super soft HB feel and is quite juicy, but does have a nice bitterness which you don't always get with their hazy stuff. Good stuff.

Pale, dirty straw yellow and peach color; dense, small bubble carbonation; big head, foamy and spongy; decent rings and partial sheets of foam inside the glass. Strawberry and nectarine smell; fairly bold; lemon drops. Mouth puckering sourness greets the palate; lemon, strawberries, pineapple and cherries. Medium-heavy body; mildly effervescent; bold tartness; modestly sweet juiciness.

This is a very tasty and righteous sour ale. I believe the wheat base really adds to the smoothness of the mouthfeel and aids the flavor from the fruit and yeast. A nice treat...
