What do you think of Trail Hazard?

 

Good morning BAs! Too cool & rainy to get much of a sunrise pic today…picked up some new beers yesterday…today’s coffee - Rogue’s Rolling Thunder (2022) imperial stout aged 9 months in whiskey barrels:



Poured dark brown verging on black with ruby edges; good clarity; light brown mixed bubbles head upon aggressive pour; brief cap retention; solid creamy ring; island of micro dots remain; spots of lace and thin legs at best on swirl. Nose is chocolate and whiskey; boozy hot retro nasal. Whiskey on entry; charred oak; bittersweet dark chocolate; oaky vanilla on backend. Medium light body, moderate minus carbonation; heat in mouth from 13.6% abv; alcohol burn on tongue; dry oaky/wooden finish. Overall more boozy barrel notes than base; plenty of heat from alcohol, which I like, but out of balance and really a hot sipper now; maybe a little aging would help.

Lol. Been there. I usually book a room at the Gatwick Marriott the night before we fly so I can whittle down the inventory and re-weigh the bags - Cheers and safe return travels!

 

I for one can relate to that
When I fly I try to stick to cans when it comes to beer to bring home. This is a lot easier when traveling from Canada and the US, compared to the other direction. Still mostly bottles in Belgium and Germany.

Got the day off to good start, fed some bluegill some worms, bike ride done, house prepped for return of the lovely bride. Another from the "Road to Nowhere", a bit older than expected, will look for something fresher locally, but I thought the old one was flat but drinkable..
......last years summer beer was Founders Scarlett Dawn, I might finish the summer with this......enjoy what's in yer glass.......and fills yer ears......

 

Oh yeah, finally getting around to posting one of the beers that I've already consumed today.
